Re: rate the last movie you saw

Iron Man 2. Fairly uninvolving, formulaic superhero flick. Better score than than first one though, that's for sure!

Re: Cameron to Shoot AVATAR Sequel 7 Miles BELOW Sea Level

I think he should go one further and only exhibit the film down there as well.

While they're at it maybe they can write a new script too and shoot new scenes that aren't completely laughable.

John Johnson wrote:What's wrong with Gladiator? I personally think it's a great score. One of Zimmer's best.
Granted it has one or two fairly decent themes (something Zimmer no longer traffics in) but it is way to synthesized for a Roman epic, and I find it overblown, unsubtle and rather trite.

Cool :D What? The possibility of Hans Zimmer scoring Excalibur? Zimmer ruined Gladiator, Pirates Of The Caribbean, King Arthur, etc. He's not good at those types of films. His music is overblown and simplistic and he lacks the classical culture (not to mention training) -- the kind of cultural enri...

As far as Best Score, I thought Up was decent, but nothing special. Avatar may be derivative, but at least it is exciting and has a few thrills. And few composers these days make as good use of an orchestra's resources as James Horner.

Part 2 of this guy's review where talks about the actual story is even better.

Look at how he compares the action-packed first scene of Star Wars to the talky opening scenes of Phantom Menace.

Funny fan analysis of The Phantom Menace

This is a little silly, and didn't win me over right away, but I gotta admit this guy makes a lot of good points about the Star Wars prequels versus the originals.

Hi, I'm new here - glad to find people who are likewise unimpressed with this movie. I'm can't get over the hype which critics have been showering over Avatar. To be honest I didn't find the CGI work to be any more impressive than A Bug's Life!
