Re: Halloween Horror Marathon 2017

Thanks MJ, I certainly am looking forward to it! Right now though, he's sensitive enough that even the skeleton finale from the GARFIELD HALLOWEEN SPECIAL is a bit too intense for his liking. We have shown him the GREAT PUMPKIN CHARLIE BROWN and even MAD MONSTER PARTY which he liked -- and he ...

Re: Halloween Horror Marathon 2017

BURNT OFFERINGS.....ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww......have had a phobia with that one since I was a kid! I'm going through the DRACULA's like Eric Paddon goes through versions of A CHRISTMAS CAROL every December. Will report my findings soon -- part of the reason I don't contribute more to your thread is that...

Re: rate the last movie you saw

I've always liked CURSE more than TRAIL. At least it's a "real movie" and Mancini's score is one of his livelier efforts from the later PP films. Obviously it's not great (I mean, it's Ted Wass, how could it be?), but if you're going to go through the series Michael, it's worth checking out both tha...

Re: SUPERMAN 188-Min. Extended Version -- Coming to Blu-Ray!

The "Next Year Superman II" credit was cut out of the TV versions, at least the ones I have. So it not being there would be expected.

I also love Valerie Perrine. I think she's perfect in it :)

Re: SUPERMAN 188-Min. Extended Version -- Coming to Blu-Ray!

We'll never know what Donner might've produced, but IMO the Lester material in Niagara Falls is much more effective than Donner's ridiculous unused sequence of Lois jumping out the window of the Daily Planet to prove Clark is Superman. For all the fans who continuously chide Lester's involvement (ev...

Re: SUPERMAN 188-Min. Extended Version -- Coming to Blu-Ray!

The ABC version of II does run about 15 minutes longer. Years ago someone sent me a copy of the German TV version, which adds another 10 minutes (or more, considering PAL speed-up) into that, so my guess is the TV cut if Warner released it would be even longer than what ABC aired (much like Superman...

Re: BLADE RUNNER 2049 - Official Thread

Found out that even though Sean Young is credited, she actually wasn't involved in filming -- so that "CGI Rachel" really was a stand-in digitally animated. I have to say the FX were phenomenal. Unlike the lame CGI of Peter Cushing and Carrie Fisher in STAR WARS ROGUE ONE, I thought they had actuall...

Re: Halloween Horror Marathon 2017

THE OLD DARK HOUSE 8/10 Despite growing up as a fan of Universal’s ‘30s and ‘40s monster mashes, James Whale’s THE OLD DARK HOUSE (72 mins., 1932; Cohen Media Group) was a title I was completely unfamiliar with. This adaptation of the novel “Benighted” by J.B. Priestly became a casualty of Universal...
