Re: Netflix CEO: movies aren't necessarily better on the big screen

Well that's absurd, but he's probably feeling emboldened by the miserable box-office returns of this weekend. This summer is going to reignite the debate. With no Maverick or Barbenheimer in sight, theaters are going to struggle. Hollywood hasn't learned its lesson yet and seems hellbent on pushing ...

Re: Memorial Day Box-Office: FURIOSA Bottoms Out, Worst Holiday Weekend in 40 Years

I will eventually see it at home but it sure doesn't look magnificent. Part of the problem beyond the rampant CGI is Taylor-Joy looks absurd, barely 100 lbs running around as this anorexic desert warrior. Linda Hamilton transformed her body for T2, and nobody laughed at her. They could've cast someo...

Oh yeah. But the Warner USA release will be cheapest so just wait. Not like we haven't been! 8)

AMADEUS 4K Restoration Coming This Fall (Finally)

The theatrical version cometh our way in 4K!

NOTE - this is just the official French release but it's a worldwide Warner title so it'll be available everywhere.

Memorial Day Box-Office: FURIOSA Bottoms Out, Worst Holiday Weekend in 40 Years

Hilarious they need to stop at 1984 as a (brainless) point of comparison...this is so horrible they aren't even taking inflation into account! Going to be a bad summer for Hollywood...people have had it with all of this recycled junk. And FURIOSA looked like crap from its trailers too... FRIDAY AFTE...

Re: GODZILLA MINUS ONE - Andy's Review

Toho infamously never, ever includes subtitles on their Godzilla releases in Japan, undoubtedly because they want $$ to license them out to a distributor in the US market. People are irritated because there isn't any domestic release forthcoming at the moment. Could have something to do with the win...

Re: JBHiFi Blu-Ray & 4K Buy 1 Get 1 Free Sale

I've ordered two batches of Imprint titles during JB's frequent 20% off sales recently as Imprint only sends me 1 or 2 monthly for review. JB has indeed gotten the international mail together but it looks to me, based on Imprint's own mailings using the same Aussie air mail service, that the Aussie ...

That looks like a straight reissue of the Network Blu-Ray, which had the 2 versions on it (and which I proudly own also!).

I can see a Blu-Ray for sure, just surprised they're still piping out a DVD box at this point in time.

Re: rate the last movie you saw

Yes, thanks Eric, I remembered you writing that up and I found it via a board search. Seems like it was stuck in that era where Hollywood was trying, at times, to strike a "can't we all just get along" tone in a lot of these films. Either way it's a movie that, beyond that, could have stil...
