Re: Weekend Box Office 5/5 - FALL GUY Falls From Expectations

To someone who knows nothing of THE FALL GUY, the movie's concept was poorly defined in the trailers they put out. Films "about Hollywood" seldom do that great, and THE FALL GUY as a "brand" is not anything that means anything to anyone really..we're talking a 40 year old TV seri...

GOLD (1974) Remastered From 88 Films

I picked this 88 Films release up the other day -- just a note they fixed an error involving some stretching in the transfer that had plagued the first UK release, as well as the Kino Lorber one. Also adds in some excellent, new 30-45 minute interviews with John Glen and the DP, plus the producers, ...

Re: Captain America? Phuck no!

This movie sounds like a runaway train spinning towards disaster. Disney has no clue what to do with Marvel at this point. None of the post-"Phase 1" heroes have taken hold, even something like ANT-MAN (always a B grade hero to begin with) that generated multiple sequels played to rapidly ...

Re: Dwayne pees in bottles, causes $50 million budget increase

I was wondering what was holding this up...crazy but typical. This kind of thing with certain big stars happens all the time, but Amazon/MGM, not used to paying for movies of this nature, probably had zero control.

Re: rate the last movie you saw

I don't think any film before or since is as visually-imaginative or arresting. There's not a more influential film from a visual standpoint than this one. Not in my lifetime, and perhaps not ever. Even watching this film today is like stepping into its own aesthetic. It's not a film from 1982, it'...

Re: rate the last movie you saw

The film stars Jason Statham (you know what you're in for right there) as a reclusive beekeeper with (of course) a "mysterious past", who sets about avenging a friend who has been robbed of her entire life savings by phone scammers. The premise is basically cribbed from The Equalizer , bu...

LUCKY LADY (1975) & WHO IS KILLING THE GREAT CHEFS OF EUROPE (1978) Coming on Blu-Ray in Germany

Surprise first ever HD release of LUCKY LADY, the infamous 70s big studio disappointment (you wonder how it's coming out since it's a Fox title I believe even there), plus the good natured George Segal/Jackie Bissett/Robert Morley comic mystery... https://media1.jpc.de/image/w340/front/0/42501243726...
