Thanks Eric, I appreciate the history. That would explain it as the real reason this "speculative history" hasn't been unearthed until now!

Re: rate the last movie you saw

I second THE BIBLE, that's a visually spectacular film from a cinematography and music standpoint -- absolutely unique and compelling. Rewatched it last year. The Blu-Ray holds up incredibly well, and I find that's a film that was ahead of its era in terms of its composition and overall style. Much ...

Re: GHOSTBUSTERS: FROZEN EMPIRE - Trailer

GHOSTBUSTERS: FROZEN EMPIRE (**): Sequel to 2021’s “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” isn’t completely terrible and, with a solid rewrite or two, may have proven to be the first franchise sequel to measure up to Ivan Reitman’s 1984 classic. Alas, I think we’ve by now seen the best efforts of writer/producer ...

Re: Rate The Last TV Show Episode You Watched

Yeah exactly, the original Max was a dud in the US. It's why Warner had to retitle the sequel THE ROAD WARRIOR domestically, because nobody knew what MAD MAX was.

Isn't that what COVENANT was supposed to be?

Probably not surprising, this is exactly the kind of mid budget movie they make for Hulu. Running around in dark corridors needn't cost a hell of a lot

Re: GHOSTBUSTERS: FROZEN EMPIRE - Trailer

Apparently they've tried jokes but this is such an obviously worked over corporate product that you know how effective it is. Plus half the scenes in the trailer aren't in the movie which is an obvious sign of trouble typically. In its own way Sony has put its stamp on these GB films in the same way...

Re: GHOSTBUSTERS: FROZEN EMPIRE - Trailer

Ugh... , Phoebe stumbles into a star-crossed lovers subplot, in which she falls for a ghost girl named Melody (Doctor Sleep's Emily Alyn Lind). Swiftly, Phoebe is established as a queer character in a sapphic flirtation. Following a cliched path of coming-of-age queer stories, Phoebe feels so isolat...

Re: New James Bond: Aaron Taylor-Johnson Next in Line?

People may not know the name but he's certainly been in higher profile lead roles (Godzilla, Kick-Ass, etc.) than Craig had been at that point in his career. And is younger by 5 years than Craig when he was cast also (Craig also just "looks old" and sullen). I fear for the future of the se...
