Re: HUGE Sale of 4K UHDs $10 and Under at Amazon

Andy,

I clicked on the link but it goes to a blank page (the main link, not the Poltergeist link). Is that what's supposed to happen?

Re: THE OMEN Blu-Ray Thread

In the last few weeks, I've watched the first two Omen movies. Even though I'm sure I've seen them before, it felt like I was watching them for the first tome. I didn't even remember the decapitation scene! Anyway, I'll offer a third opinion on The Omen vs. The Exorcist based on their religious app...

Re: Read a Book, then Watch Its Movie!

LIVE AND LET DIE by Ian Fleming (1954, 229 pages). James Bond is sent to the USA to work with his pal Felix Leiter from the CIA in order to stop SMERSH agent Mr. Big from smuggling Bloody Morgan’s lost treasure of gold coins out of Jamaica. Bond’s enemy is highly intelligent and ruthless, using Vood...

Re: Alan Rickman Diaries To Be Released; Felt Williams' Harry Potter Music Was "Hideous"

I echo Andy's thoughts above. I admittedly stopped reading the books after Azkaban because I lost interest...that was all my fault because I read the first three books in a month, and by the time I got to the fourth book I complained that the basic story was the same in each novel and just lost inte...

Re: Alan Rickman Diaries To Be Released; Felt Williams' Harry Potter Music Was "Hideous"

My favorite Williams' score of the three he did was Prisoner of Azkaban followed by SS and then CoS. The rest of the music for the films sucked. Lol...as did the films. I hardly remember anything about the films after Azkaban.

Re: Bond Producers: "‘Bond Is Evolving as Men Are Evolving"

They're handing the baton off to the next generation, which doesn't see, understand, or accept things in the ways the previous generations did. On the one hand the people in charge of the Bond films are biting the hand that fed them - the support that two generations have given the franchise enabled...

Re: rate the last movie you saw

Same. It's an obviously compromised movie (and Mark Wahlberg is gravely miscast), yet it's far more entertaining than the critical drubbing it received would indicate. Great Rick Baker makeup, Danny Elfman's percussive score is fantastic, and all of the ape performers were clearly having a b...

Re: THE FABELMANS - The Last Spielberg/Williams Collaboration - Thanksgiving

It looks pretty pretentious to me. I don't know if I will end up seeing it. Might have to wait for DVD. At any rate, the material looks like Williams will have a chance to score one last great score before calling it quits (I have no intention of seeing another Indiana Jones movie, and I doubt that ...

Re: rate the last movie you saw

For me personally Star Trek IV was (and remains) outstanding. I pretty much have the same feelings about it as Andy does so anything I say will be a repeat of what he said! Lol...

Re: rate the last movie you saw

I feel Goldsmith's TNP score captured Trek wonderfully. Horner's WOK is solid but, IMO, was a one trick pony. It fit WOK so well (and I play it a lot) but I don't think his stuff (his style) would have worked across multiple films (III was recycled material that went nowhere, IMO, with the possible ...

Never saw the original (same with DUMBO); not interested in seeing any of the recent takes on it either.

Actually, it is my guilty favorite George Hamilton movie.

Re: Rate The Last TV Show Episode You Watched

I am one of the ones who read the books and loved the movies (LOTR). However, that is as fat as it goes for me. I remain staunchly uninterested in anything beyond the books.
