Re: rate the last movie you saw

It doesn't sound weird at all to me - he is literally taken up into the heavens at the end of the film; Ronnie, as you said, cannot understand/accept it, interprets it as a breakdown/insanity (on some level), and runs away from it with the kids as her solution.

Re: rate the last movie you saw

One dimension of the movie that always struck me is that it tells the story of Roy discovering (and being placed) where he belonged in the universe. Looking at it later as an adult, Roy is in a broken home, a child who never grew up; he ends up being a surrogate father to the aliens (I always thoug...

Re: RED SPARROW - Jennifer Lawrence as a Russian Spy - March 2nd

No interest in this - not a fan of Jennifer Lawrence at all. I feel she is extremely overrated and tries too hard.

Re: rate the last movie you saw

Totally disagree with you on TEMPLE OF DOOM and LAST CRUSADE MJ. I found TEMPLE OF DOOM to be the weakest of the series (before CRYSTAL SKULL) - Short Round is annoying as heck, and for me the film felt like it was never really comfortable with itself. LAST CRUSADE has, for me, Williams' best score ...

Mickey, Goofy and Donald must have paid a visit to Senor Skywalker's abode. It's OK, Mark -- we all know how you REALLY feel.

I lost a little respect there for Mark Hamill for backtracking.

In addition to "Megalon", "Godzilla vs. The Sea Monster" also got the MST3K treatment.
As corny as Godzilla vs. The Sea Monster got, I didn't think it was MST3K corny. Megalon, definitely.

Re: GODZILLA Movie Thread

Lol...that outfit gives me nightmares! Funny that there was a MST3K episode with that film. After watching it I thought that it would be a great candidate for the show...either that or MST3K would think it would be too easy and not consider it! I never saw that episode but I do agree that this...

Re: GODZILLA Movie Thread

GODZILLA VS. GIGAN (1972) - 5/10. This is a step up from the previous film; the human characters in the film and their story was fun to me. I liked the acting...what I was surprised by was the addition of some spurting blood and some really aggressive fighting that led to skin being split open, bloo...

EMPIRE for me will always be the strongest of the films - outstanding achievement on every level. It is also my favorite score of the lot.

Re: STAR WARS EPISODE VIII: THE LAST JEDI - Opens $12 Million Under TFA

One of the biggest mistakes of the Prequels was how much of a non-entity Darth Maul was, like Lucas decided he "looked cool" and that was enough to define a character. Boba Fett -- same exact thing in the original trilogy. Growing up everybody loved the character and played with the action figure, ...

Re: Where (and when) did you first see each of the Star Wars movies?

The only one I vaguely remember was seeing STAR WARS: A NEW HOPE when it came out. I don't remember where or when - just that my grandfather took us to see it (along with my mom, his daughter) and when the Cantina Band scene came on he left the theater and waited in the car until it was over. He hat...

Re: Disney Buys Fox, Acquires Film/TV (Non-Broadcast) Assets

No one wins with this...I hate Disney.

And thinking about it - if there ever was going to be an official TRUE LIES BR release, that has gotta be truly dead at this point. Glad I still have my DVD copy of it. There probably won't even be a deluxe edition THE ABYSS release now either.
