Re: SUPERGIRL (1984) Improved German Blu-Ray

Andy Swarzc was on this as EMI was pushing for a very fast & cheaper film & they paid for this film, he proved to be exceptionally efficient on Jaws 2 & was able to meet the requirements. Guess that he may have been asked to try to get Christopher Reeves, but I do not know for certain, i...

Dune TV version

Thought I would ask here, as many have seen these extended US broadcast versions & they never made it to the UK, I do find them fascinating. I have the Arrow release Dune, but the Australians, Imprint, are putting out a version which has the TV cut. Now I did quite a bit of work on this back in ...

Re: Arrow Releasing Something Big!

A while back the net seemed 'aflame" about The Warriors coming out with an all bells & whistle edition? maybe it is that & they finally got the full TV version to add to 4K remastered? Some people held back on the Imprint for that reason. Happy with the German media book edition, but if...

Re: Truly Memorable Movies since 2000?

My thoughts are that it is 50 / 50 or the great English saying 6 of 1 and half a dozen of the other. The internet has made programing wall to wall, everything all blurs into one thing, films are given no life to breath find an audience and make its own way forward. The never ending onslaught of prod...

Re: Truly Memorable Movies since 2000?

For someone who was quite active in this industry in Europe at the time frame being discussed here, here are a few observations. Up until the early 1990’s we handled films in very defined ways. There were a few big or now termed blockbusters, Towering Inferno, Jaws, Star Wars, Superman The Movie, St...

Re: TMNT 1990 "Stink-O-Vision" release

Nothing new we did this back in the 1980's with Polyester. Just a gimmick that really was quite pointless!

More things change the more they stay the same!

Re: THE EAGLE HAS LANDED - Andy's Imprint Blu-Ray Review

Thanks Andy, I wasn't aware of the later British Blu-Ray that had it in there. I'll correct it before I upload it online next week. That Steelbook you worked on notes 1080i so obviously they didn't have a true HD element of that version available? That's too bad, but it is better than a DVD scan. F...

Re: THE EAGLE HAS LANDED - Andy's Imprint Blu-Ray Review

The extended version was released on Blu Ray back in 2018 for the UK, so not really a premier as such. Not a bad copy, I was given a copy for some advice I gave them on the cuts. Think it was more of an up grade from the DVD master than an actual re-scan etc. Here is the link. https://www.amazon.co....

Disney streaming at a turning point?

From the BBC, link below. https://www.bbc.com/news/business-63563035 What amuses me is that the "bottom line" is taking a "hit", this coming from a company that now sits on two massive archives of films, seems to show zero respect for its history & founder. Add into that very...

Re: Cyrano de Bergerac (1990) Blu-ray -- with English subtitles?

Paul Here is the BFI copy that is on Amazon UK, most BFI discs are locked to Region B, so an all region player would be needed. I have asked a friend to see if they have it & can advise on the picture quality. The few BFI releases I own are very good. Here is the UK link. https://www.amazon.co.u...

thanks Paul for moving over the comments. For those here who have seen / own some or a lot of these, I only really know of The Deep, but never seen it, as I had a chance to ask Peter Yates directly, it was to be a longer film & the cinema version was cut down to have more screenings, are majorit...

would you say the difference in timing on the 2023 Indicator release would be Pal to NTSC?
