THE MERV GRIFFIN BOX SET

Hello All, Hey Andyman, it's almost June...are those wedding bells I hear off in the distance? Depending on your age you may or may not remember The Merv Griffin Show. He had a talk show during the '60s, '70s and most of the '80s. He could be funny like Carson, but he could also have serious shows. ...

Hello All, Just a quick note on the French langauge in Canada. Many people who live outside of Canada are under the impression that French is spoken everywhere in the True North. Nothing could be further from the truth. French is spoken in the province of Quebec, outside of Quebec there are some sma...

Hello All, What can you say about the Oscars? It's the show that many people (not everyone) love to hate. The ratings were down 10% over last year, but then again almost all the "event" shows on TV are down in general. I think one factor is that the movies that were up for Oscars were not ...

What's up with the Woodman's MATCH POINT?

Hello All, I noticed that MATCH POINT isn't in the top 10 films (which surprised me because the reviews are mainly love letters), so I looked into it a bit more and couldn't believe it's only playing at 400 theaters? However it's gross per theater number is sky high, somewhere around 6,500 dollars (...

Hello Andy, Ahhhhhhhh, THE TIME TUNNEL. Andy, knowing you the way that I do, if you had grown up in the '60s it would have been your favorite show!! Keep in mind if you were a kid of 10 or 12 during that time you had shows on TV like STAR TREK, THE INVADERS, TWILIGHT ZONE, THE OUTER LIMITS, ONE STEP...

HOSTEL

Hello All,

Just saw the trailer...so, is this what it all comes down to in 2006?
This looks like it has all the appeal of a snuff film.

The film world would have been better off if Mr. T had stayed at the video store.

My only question is how does he keep getting the money?

CAPOTE

Hello All, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! (Sure to be a great new year for the Dursinman) Last night I went to the movie (first time I've ever gone to the movies on New Year's Eve and believe it or not the place was packed). I saw the movie CAPOTE. WOW!! What a powerful motion picture. I must confess that before...

Good Night and Good Luck with the Clooneyman

Hello All, Over the last two months I've been really busy and haven't been keeping track of my movies, but I was somewhat aware that Clooney's movie, GOOD NIGHT AND GOOD LUCK was about to come out. I was checking around last week and was shocked that GNGL has already been out and gone! Has anyone he...

Hello All, I just saw KING KONG last night and I have to agree with a lot of what has been said here. I don't mind long films, but KONG was at least an hour TOO LONG. I felt almost nothing for any of the characters, except for Kong. Sorry, Jack Black was a big mistake. Every time I saw him on screen...

Michael Bay should move to an island

Hello All, I was talking with a pal of mine about some film Michael Bay is working on and it got me to thinking. Bay is perhaps one of the most over rated Hollywood directors. Granted, I enjoyed THE ROCK, but look at the list of his other films. Let's not forget THE ISLAND. It cost over 120 million ...

COMBAT TV series on DVD

Hello All, I am not sure exactly of the date, it either just came out or is going to come out on September 6th (Andy, do you know?) It might be interesting. It was a WWII drama that had Vic Morrow in the lead. Not a bad show. Kind of like TOUR OF DUTY. This is season 5, in color with 13 episodes. Au...
