Re: rate the last movie you saw
Unbreakable 8/10 It's been at least 15 years since I'd seen Unbreakable, and it was much better than I remembered. Things that stuck out to me were the abundance of long shots- refreshing to see in these hyper edited modern days. The fantastic framing of shots too! The camera slowly going up and do...

Re: Weekend Box Office 5/5 - FALL GUY Falls From Expectations
Me and my wife want to see this, because it looks fun, but the title sucks...I don't think people associate "Fall Guy" with "Stunt Man". And these days, isn't everything CGI? Also, I downloaded the score...interpolates a song from Kiss (I was made for loving you) ina few tracks t...

Re: rate the last movie you saw
Batman (1989) Live in Concert The Warner Theater in DC had a one night only showing of Tim Burton's Batman with Danny Elfman's score performed live to picture. It was fun time, and the crowd was very excited to see the film. I walked in behind someone in full Batman costume, which had to have been u...

Re: Rate The Last TV Show Episode You Watched
Haven't watched the finale yet, but I feel the same way about Reacher season 2. Too many bland fight scenes, people making terrible choices (why did the good cop just walk up to the guys shooting at him. He had cover behind the car?) . Also, did they film all of Robert Patrick scenes in one afternoo...

It was okay, but I don't remember a thing about it, other than Hugh Grant seemed to be having fun.Paul MacLean wrote: ↑Sat Dec 16, 2023 11:18 pm 4/10
I lasted half an hour before turning it off. The same old cliched characters and formulaic CGI effects.

Re: GODZILLA MINUS ONE - Andy's Review
My 6th grade son and I went and saw Godzilla Minus One last night. I'm not a huge Godzilla fan...mostly enjoy watching the old cheesy 60's ones. I always zoned out during the human stuff. I warned my son that this was not like that, and was subtitled, and was more of a 'serious' Godzilla movie. I th...

Re: Halloween Horror Marathon 2023
I agree Andy, Haunted Mansion sucked. I actually preferred the Eddie Murphy one by a large margin. That one looked like some money was spent, this one just looked cheap. My son said he liked it, but to me it needed to either be a LOT funnier or a LOT scarier. And I noticed the same thing about how c...

Re: Weekend Box Office 10/29 - Some Video Game Horror Movie For Kids Breaks Halloween Records
I'm not surprised....Five Nights At Freddys has been HUGE with kids for years now. It's flown under the radar for a lot of adults. But young kids who played it when it first came out are now teenagers/young adults, and they have been looking forward to this all year. Tons of my 7 and 8th grade stude...

Going to stick this here (I don't think there is a concert thread) I got to see Giacchino's Marvel short film " Werewolf by Night" performed at the Kennedy Center with the NSO last night. It was a really fun concert, a Halloween/Spooky movie themed one. He was there, along with Marvel head...

I have DMC in the US, hopefully it isn't shutting down as well! I've subscribed a few times, then quit, in order to get a good deal. May I suggest getting things that aren't available anywhere else? I picked up Honey I shrunk the Kids/Blew up the Kid, Three Musketeers, 20k leagues under the Sea, The...

DUEL - 7/10 Spielberg's first theatrical movie (albiet in Europe, it started as an US TV movie of the week), is an outstanding little thriller. It's too bad they don't make things like this- full of brightly lit cinematography, practical effects, and a simple story that leaves a lot up to the imagin...

Huge fan of his silent film scores, but to me, he always had the BEST James Bond recordings...Bond for Orchestra is especially good.

Gruv 3 for 15 blu-ray sale
Gruv.com has a pretty good sale on blu-rays at the moment. Good for movies you like, but don't *love* enough to spend money on them in 4k! https://www.gruv.com/ I picked up: Beetlejuice Jaws 2 Ben-Hur Gone with the Wind Clash of the Titans (original) Kelly's Heroes/ Where Eagles Day combo Dumb and D...
