Re: STAR TREK For Sale to Warner Bros.?!?!

And certainly better than the alternative, which is Paramount itself being sold to WB and effectively shut down. We don't need another studio going the way of Fox...not unless you like 3 or 4 megacorporations solely producing 99% of the world's entertainment. :( It's infuriating that Disney essenti...

Re: STAR TREK For Sale to Warner Bros.?!?!

Imagine going back thirty years, and telling someone that, one day, Disney would own Star Wars, and that WB would own Star Trek.

Re: DUNE 2: SOMETHING IS GOING TO HAPPEN THIS TIME - November 3rd

We often poke fun and may be sarcastic about Zimmer, but the DUNE 2 score is a new kind of wretched, even for him. It adds NOTHING to the film (which I also saw last night). Not a single thing. It does DETRACT from it. This loud, obnoxious, grating, subwoofer-rattling "wall of sound" does...

Re: DUNE 2: SOMETHING IS GOING TO HAPPEN THIS TIME - November 3rd

That's one of the worst scores I've ever heard. Period. I saw Dune 2: How YOU Dune? yesterday, and watched the first Kung Fu Panda at home later that night, and lemme tell ya, "Oogway Ascends" has more melody and emotion in it than Zimmer managed to evoke in all 5-1/2 hours of Dune music ...

Re: Madame Web...the latest Sony Spidey Spin-Off Suckfest

Considering that the three young ladies in Madame Web were dressed as fetishistically as possible -- despite the movie being directed by a woman! -- that proves that studios are beginning to learn that audiences like to see hot chicks in their escapist movies, not chiding, scowling ones dressed like...

The Strangers: Chapter One (of three! This year!)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XnvTG9hqxpY What a weird choice to make into a new trilogy of horror (especially as the last one came out six years ago, and the first a decade before that ), but it's nice to see Renny Harlin back on the big screen after being stuck in VOD hell for most of the last t...

Wish Costner had offered this to Bruce Broughton, or James Newton Howard (who did a killer score to Wyatt Earp). Still, it ain't a Zimmer Drone.
