Re: Disney's OMEN Prequel - April 5th - Trailer
Lots of positive "this is so messed up!" reactions for this one but everytime I read about this film I'm subjected to the director's pompous BS about female mutilation and a screed against the Catholic Church. And how awesome Disney has been helping her preserve the movie from an NC-17! At...

Re: GODZILLA X KONG - The "Colorcast" is Back
No, not a single thing Michael! Which is why I was so critical of that series, because it was aimed at adults and filled with superfluous story elements like the insane Millenial love triangle and whiny, annoying characters. The two or three episodes where no minsters showed up were painful to watch...

Re: GODZILLA X KONG - The "Colorcast" is Back
And I was surprised how many long, human-less sequences there were, with Kong's expressive facial animation and body language more than enough to keep the audience attuned to his inner thoughts. Those scenes were really well done. Basically we're watching a cartoon but it's well designed and Kong's...

Re: GODZILLA X KONG - The "Colorcast" is Back
I pretty much loved it and honestly for what it is, it's a perfect kids movie and a throwback to 50s Sci fi where people would go walking through the jungle, find some undiscovered tribe, etc. Except this time in the ridiculous hollow earth setting! This movie really is a kids film too. There's not ...

Re: GODZILLA X KONG - March - Trailer
Going this weekend with Theo and Joanne in the deluxe laser projection. And even some of the reviews seem pretty good -- not that they matter. This is the big, modern counterpart to the late '60s/'70s Toho Godzilla movies -- adult fans savored the serious GODZILLA MINUS ONE and now everyone includin...

Re: RIP Lou Gossett Jr.
Wonderful memories Andy, thank you for sharing! I'm heartened to know what he often projected on-screen resembled his actual self -- a lot of heart, a lot of class.

Thanks Eric, I appreciate the history. That would explain it as the real reason this "speculative history" hasn't been unearthed until now!

Re: rate the last movie you saw
I second THE BIBLE, that's a visually spectacular film from a cinematography and music standpoint -- absolutely unique and compelling. Rewatched it last year. The Blu-Ray holds up incredibly well, and I find that's a film that was ahead of its era in terms of its composition and overall style. Much ...

Re: GHOSTBUSTERS: FROZEN EMPIRE - Trailer
GHOSTBUSTERS: FROZEN EMPIRE (**): Sequel to 2021’s “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” isn’t completely terrible and, with a solid rewrite or two, may have proven to be the first franchise sequel to measure up to Ivan Reitman’s 1984 classic. Alas, I think we’ve by now seen the best efforts of writer/producer ...
