Re: rate the last movie you saw

Yeah...saw Bridge Of Spies with my Dad this afternoon, and we both enjoyed it very much. He even -- not spurred by anything I said -- commented about how nice the score was during the end titles! Naturally, seeing a Spielberg movie sans Williams is a bit odd, but Newman did a great job with ...

Re: Halloween Horror Marathon '15

Jeez that's depressing. I learned to turn movies off or at least fast forward through years ago. Life's too short to waste on crap like Vamp in Brooklyn! I have no friends, no girl and no social life...movies are what passes the time for me. - Don't Look Now (1973): 9/10 http://static1.1.sqspcdn.co...

Re: Halloween Horror Marathon '15

I have this thing where I find it impossible to stop watching a film once I've started it, no matter how horrible it might be. Plus, Bassett was nice to look at, and Robinson's score is better than I expected (ever a CD release for that?). Otherwise, it's total dross, and represents Murphy at his sm...

- The People Under The Stairs (1991): 6/10 http://www.modernsuperior.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/The-People-Under-the-Stairs.jpg By the admittedly atrocious standards of every new-to-me Wes Craven movie I've watched this month, this comes across as a rousing success. That's not to mean it's espec...

Re: DIE HARD VI - Len Wiseman Directing Prequel/Sequel

I dunno...I think Wiseman did a bang-up job with the underappreciated Live Free , but yet another "The Early Years" prequel? :? Plus, who would they get to play the young Bruno? I'm sure Joseph Gordon-Levitt is too busy. If they have to do another one, I'd rather have one last one wi...

Re: Halloween Horror Marathon '15

Most of the Craven movies I've watched this month have been new-to-me, and agreed...for a supposed "master of horror", the majority of his filmography sucks . :? Even the two Nightmare On Elm St. movies he directed aren't the best of the franchise (the third one was the best, and Craven ju...

Re: Halloween Horror Marathon '15

Had to remind myself that Wes Craven actually made good movies from time to time... - Scream (1996): 9/10 http://cdn.bloody-disgusting.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/Scream-Casey-Becker-drew-barrymore-31896958-2560-1088-620x400.jpg For my money, this is Craven's finest film...a winkingly sly homage ...

Re: rate the last movie you saw

Yes, The Walk is a gem, and it's a shame so few people are interested in seeing it. It also contains the most eloquently moving final shot of a movie I have seen this year. I just wish I could have seen it in 3D...but then again, as someone not in love with heights, maybe not. Even in 2D, I was grip...

Re: OMG Saw a New Movie With a Score I Liked!

It's good to read some positive comments about current scores. MJ liked Man From UNCLE and I've seen positive comments on some other scores that came out this year like Cinderella, MI: Rogue Nation and Wolf Totem. Keep this going and we might even have a Top 5 Best Scores of 2015 thread! Michael Gi...
