Re: Weekend Box Office 7/20 - CONJURING Hits $40 Mil at #1

I'm not surprised that Turbo didn't do too well...I mean, a snail that has a nitrous accident and is then fast enough to race against human drivers? That just sounds stupid. Check out this letter from the 1970's from famed Disney animator Ward Kimball to Lorenzo Music, who at the time wanted to do a...

Re: ANCHORMAN 2 - Trailer

I love Anchorman...saw it 7 times in the theater when it came out (thanks to a pay one price, watch all day deal our theater had). So many quotable lines! To me, it's the closest thing to a modern day Marx Brothers movie we'll get. Lots of fast one-liners, physical comedy, and even some musical inte...

Re: rate the last movie you saw

This is my first time writing a review on this site, so bear with me, especially since I appear to be in the minority. Star Trek: Into Darkness 7 out of 10 Spoilers below! I'm not a big Trek fan. I enjoyed the movies with the original cast (1,2, and 6 being my favorites), but never got into any of t...

Re: STAR WARS Thread: Harrison Ford/Han Solo Returns

Very sad news. I grew up loving LucasArts games, they had such a high standard of quality....put that was over a decade ago now I guess. They haven't made a good game since Republic Commando Still, they made more games that I still love to this day than any other company: Maniac Mansion/ Day of the ...

Re: CAPTAIN AMERICA II Casting

I'm more excited about Scarlett Johannsson making an appearance. Yowza :-D I am bummed that the girl from the first one, Hayley Atwell won't be back, although since this sequel is set in the present, that makes sense. Also I'll miss Joe Johnston, but hopefully he can go off and make his Boba Fett mo...

Re: rate the last movie you saw

Really enjoying these Bond write-ups. I got the box set and am working my way through them (slow going with an 8 month old in the house: I've only gotten up to You Only Live Twice.) Your reviews give me things to think about as I watch them. But: I really like Goldeneye. Probably because this was th...

Re: STAR WARS VII director-J. J. Abrams

I think this is the best (and most obvious) choice that could be made at the moment for Star Wars.

Assuming Williams says no, I would guess that Giacchino will score the new ones.

Re: Black Friday Week Deals - Bond 50 $110, Twilight Zone $1

Picked up Captain America for 8 bucks, the Planet of the Apes set for 20, and the wife told me to order my Christmas presents on Saturday: the Bond box and the Indiana Jones set. Going to be a good winter :)

Re: LINCOLN - Trailer is Out

Totally agree about the look of Indiana Jones 4...I came away thinking it was all done on soundstages. When I read later that much was done on location I was shocked. It had the same fake look that most of the Star Wars prequels had...

Very sad news. I just saw Kunzel conducting a John Williams concert in DC in July! He seemed full of energy and gave no sign of his illness.

Andy is right: Fantastic Journey is a great cd. His rendition of Last Starfighter is better than the real thing!

Ugh. Looks like a remake of "Delgo"! I read somewhere that Cameron even admits it is basically Dances with Wolves in outer space.

What a let down.

Long time lurker here, just wanted to chime in on this thread : Tyler seems to have been the person who wrote music for the Star Trek trailer. At least according to this site: http://www.canmag.com/nw/13670-brian-tyler-star-trek-music Not sure if the AICN page was pulled because of something else th...
