I'm a huge fan of THE ABYSS. I like some of the scenes in the longer version but that extended ending -- while "making more sense" -- is something that I've never entirely cared for. Me neither. I totally agree, too, that while it does make more sense, it loses something in the expansion....

I don't normally take my wife to see movies she's not really interested in seeing, but I've already told her this one will be worth a babysitter.

I'm just not remotely interested in this movie, even after the new trailer. I'm not big on comics-turned-movies generally, and there's really nothing in here to reel me in. I wish there were.

From everything I've read, Tatum and Hill have surprisingly good chemistry and it really drives the movie. I have a lot of hope for it. Which is something I *never* thought I'd say.
