Re: A Good Day To Die Hard - Teaser Trailer.

I mean, whatever. It looks like a John Moore movie. There's literally nothing separating it from any other B-movie actioner that's come out in the last ten years.

Re: Halloween Horror Marathon 2012

I'm looking forward to PA3. PA2 was a big step up from the first one, IMO, with better characters (such as they are - the dad's freakout at the daughter's boyfriend killed me) and a clever expansion of the franchise's mythology. The last half hour was very effective. Having a toddler myself certainl...

Re: Halloween Horror Marathon 2012

Y'all are making me jealous. October is typically my month to dive headlong into new horror delights, but right now I'm just too busy with work and babies to get any time, and most of the time I do get is spent sleeping. But I've got a few things on my Amazon instant watchlist that I hope to hit soo...

Re: Halloween Horror Marathon 2012

I got started a couple days early this year with the documentary CROPSEY over the weekend. Not quite what I was expecting but I ended up enjoying it, despite the fact that I have a young daughter (more on that in a second). Every wooded area has its own legendary boogeyman, traded down to new genera...

I was just mentioning I'd seen it there, not impliedly opining about the site's credibility.

Re: DAWN OF THE APES - Script Done, Director Wanted

AICN posted that list as well. Reeves would be a great choice.

Re: Malick's "Least Narrative" Film Yet Booed at Festival

I can't dismiss the idea of "finding the film in the editing room" wholesale, but it's frustrating to see Malick go more and more into the formless when his first, and best, two movies managed to be abstract and impressionistic but also tight and emotionally specific. You don't have to sac...

Re: How JAWS Changed the World - New Shark Week Special

Very disappointing. All of the behind-the-scenes stuff, and even the cultural phenomenon stuff, has been covered, better, elsewhere, and the rest is basically about how it scared people out of the water and villified sharks. BREAKING NEWS Y'ALL

LOL HII commentary with Leo Rossi.

"I wasn't there for that scene but I remember everyone being excited about it."

"Here's me getting horny, some of my best work."

"At this point I've been dead for about a half hour, but this is some of Lance Guest's best work."

Re: BOURNE LEGACY Trailer

What disturbs me are the comments that the film is boring, talky and convoluted. At 135 minutes that doesn't get my radar going (whatever that means) I have to say the running time alone is a disappointment. The BOURNE movies all benefitted tremendously from being lean and mean. I think IDENTITY wa...

Re: SKYFALL - New Bond Film - Trailer is Out

The international trailer gives WAY too much of the plot away (including the oh-so-tired MacGuffin). I saw the Imax trailer before THE DARK KNIGHT RISES and it had the same wow factor without going through the story note by note.

Re: JAWS - The Blu-Ray, The Movie, etc.

Come on over Mike!! (If you weren't half the eastern seaboard away)... The transfer is spectacular. No complaints, Universal did a marvelous job. The extras are OK, but they suffer from a lot of standard-def jaggies and low bit rates...that Shark is Still Working documentary is in non-anamorphic, 4...

It's too bad that the Wachowskis have their own credits on CLOUD ATLAS because I was really looking forward to seeing "Tom Tykwer & The Wachowski Siblings"

I keed, I keed.

Re: AMAZING SPIDER-MAN - Horner NAILS IT

Maybe I'm overpraising Spidey -- and I wish it didn't have the synth undercurrent during the action cues, but I'm sure he had to put them in there -- but on the other hand, when it's been years since I've heard anything like it, it's an easy thing to do. :D I noticed those too, Andy, and my first t...
