AAAAH! This is great- I rotate that film on an every other year basis- once at Halloween, then the next year at Christmas, as I think it can work f...

Great question Andy! I had fun thinking about this.... FAVORITE FILMS: Every year I watch HALLOWEEN, JOHN CARPENTER'S THE THING, and one of the EVIL DEAD films (more often than not it's ARMY OF DARKNESS as that film cracks me up)- without fail. Those are the only consistent ones I watch yearly (and ...

[quote="AndyDursin Couldn't agree with you more. I started reviewing laserdiscs when I was in high school and recall the first commentary I had a real problem with: I believe it was Criterion's PEEPING TOM, which (as memory serves) had a "film professor" talk endlessly about the meani...

Disliked HANNIBAL and disliked RED DRAGON- I thought MANHUNTER was much more creepy and well done. SILENCE rules- nothing can beat the cellar scene. I doubt I'll be watching this series.

I would definitely be interested in this- with the exception of RESURRECTION, I love the ALIEN series of films and AVP was fun. Let's hope this director's cut happens....
I think Richards' character was supposed to be cold fish (but not THAT cold)...

Denise Richards is a joke. She couldn't act her way out of a paper bag. Let's not forget she was so bad even in STARSHIP TROOPERS that they had to remove several of her "romantic" scenes. And even Dina Meyer blew her away in that movie......sigh, poor Dina....never could follow up the suc...

I've never been a fan of Bay. I remember getting into all kinds of email confrontations with readers over ARMAGEDDON back when that movie came out -- I hated that movie then and still do now. THE ROCK, while a better movie, was never a favorite of mine either. His direction was over-the-top on ever...

This si too funny- I saw the subject posting and burst out laughing. I don't like his directing style at all- funny that the truth always comes out int he end. I guess the guy really is a hack.

The liability in DIE ANOTHER DAY for me that spoiled it was Hallie Berry- she cannot act. She looked awkward holding a gun, and her one-liner in her big fight scene made me want to puke. I think she was the only Bond girl in recent memory who I wanted to see lose a fight. You thought she was worse ...
The liability in DIE ANOTHER DAY for me that spoiled it was Hallie Berry- she cannot act. She looked awkward holding...

I'm only going to buy Nemesis for the extras. I have no interest in ever watching the movie itself ever again. The movie wasn't good...at all. :( Right- Berman blew it. They had a chance to do an all out Federation vs. Romulan thing and all they had were three ships flying around in the great clima...

Hey Andy- any info on the specs of the NEMESIS 2 disc collectors set? Commentary? Director's cut? Or is it the same as the one disc set with a couple of uneventful extras?

Samurai Films from Criterion

I looked at Criterion's home page and saw a slew of Samurai films from the 60s due out in October, including SWORD OF THE BEAST and SAMURAI REBELLION (with Toshiro Mifune)- does anybody else like this stuff? I'm extremely pumped about this collection! I heard rumors that Criterion will be releasing ...
