The Fog was a remake too. Original is so horrendous it's not even worth seeing. I wouldn't mind another Thing movie. Both are based on a pretty cool little story (which Carpenter's version is actually more accurate to) and it would be nice to see yet another take on it. The cheesy (though initially ...

Okay, on the Predator 2 special edition there's a making of thing on the second disk. The two DVD set can be had for $15. It's worth buying JUST for the insanity that is Gary Busey talking. I thought Gary and Me or whatever that reality show was was just an act, but it's not, this guy really is comp...

I think it's because Star Wars/Empire, Alien, and many of the other late seventies/early eighties sci-fis went for that "truck drivers in space" look rather than trying to look futuristic. They all have props, costumes and everything that seem realistically functional instead of just thing...

I wonder if any remnants of that sequel exist? Supposedly Lynch was about halfway through the script of Dune Messiah at the time of Dune's bombing in theaters. The biggest flaw with the narrative is that while liberties are taken with the book, it gets so many things right. Despite this t doesn't gi...

He died not too long after the movie was released (February 1986). He personally gave his approval to the visual style of the film. I forget but he actually said that the movie's costumes/etc. were in some ways superior to what he came up with in the original books. Interesting because in either Her...

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! romanD you are a God among men for being the person to make me aware of this. I've always loved this movie (as well as its soundtrack) in its extended form and it's great to finally see an official release of it in the US! I've always been a huge fan of the first six Dune nov...

Robert Folk is fantastic in general. I agree about Tremors also. I'd say it and Aliens are two of the most imitated soundtracks ever. I wonder how many years it will be before we see a Tremors remake? Hollywood is running out of sixties and seventies source material, and it's just a matter of time b...

Well at least I'll be buying the soundtrack ASAP.

So many remakes and tv series adaptations. I saw SWAT recently, what a piece of garbage. They at least used snippets of the classic theme here and there.

I saw Alexander and I saw John Wayne as Ghengis Khan, so Shue's miscasting in those roles didn't irk me one bit. I agree about Bacon in Hollow Man. I think he's very underrated in general. Either way, I'm really glad to see Shue on screen again, even if the movie seems like a real dog from what I've...

At this rate I can't wait for Maniac Cop 4 starring Lorenzo Lamas and Claudia Christian. :P MGM announced that an Amityville remake would be released on September 2004 (as in, the movie would come out on September 2004). Seems to have thankfully disappeared for now though. What's really insulting ab...

Predator 2 is so much fun! There were a lot of bad, bad, BAD action movies in the early nineties in this vague near future setting with varying degrees of science fiction elements thrown in. It's not La Dolce Vita but I would say Predator 2 is pretty much the silver-backed alpha male of this group a...

There's this PS2/X-Box video game called Fatal Frame that was developed by Tecmo and based on an actual multiple kidnapping/murder that was performed by these psychopathic Shinto cultists. It's the scariest, creepiest, most well paced horror story to come out of Japan in my life time, and I've seen ...
