I dunno...even "bad" 24 is still pretty addictive. Yeah, season 5 basically plays like an amalgam of previous years, and the way that they've been eliminating old favorites (Palmer, Tony, sweet, sweet Michelle... ) has made the entire season play like spring cleaning, yet I found the...

Ironically, most of the TV spots I've seen for The Sentinel have played during 24. "Where's the Syntox nerve gas, DAMMIT!?"

Given what the original did to differentiate itself from other genre works, you might have expected to see someone like, say, a Michael Douglas or DeNiro been cast in this had Fox want to pony up the money While I think that Liev Schreiber is a fine actor (loved him in The Manchurian Candidate ), I...

The whole problem with remakes, especially of contemporary movies (I still consider THE OMEN contemporary as it's been 30 years since the original came out), is that there's probably nobody out there who HASN'T seen the original. It's not like decades ago, before video and cable TV, where movies wo...

BTW, on June 20th, Warner Bros. will release a direct-to-DVD animated Superman movie titled Braniac Attacks which is from the Dini/Timm team, and, I believe, will feature Tim Daly returning to voice Supes. 8)

Yes, fortunately they shipped me the uncut at no extra cost and didn't want the theatrical back. UN-fortunately I haven't had enough time to watch it, Monty, but I will get back to you asap (I'm getting married this summer so time has been a real issue, especially with selling my fiancee's condo an...

So Andy, update us on the whole Return Of The Joker thang...did you finally receive the unrated cut in the mail, and, if so, what'd you think? I just finished the Batman Beyond set tonight (five-episode marathon! 8)), and have onto Justice League , which, while fun so far, really suffers from the ch...

Re: Genuinely interesting new Casino Royale article

2. No CGI touching up of the stunts at all Let's hope so. One of the chief pleasures of "old-school" Bond movies was the fact that you were watching real stuntmen doing real stunts (like that amazing pre-credits ski jump in The Spy Who Loved Me ), and seeing that CG Bond wave-surfing in D...

Late summer, I'd imagine. It strikes me as the perfect lazy August afternoon timewaster.

Jack, so if I have the SUPERMAN ANIMATED SERIES sets (which I have but haven't fully watched), I don't need to pick up that SUPERMAN/BATMAN MOVIE DVD? First off, call me Monty. Secondly, the three episode that comprise the "World's Finest" movie are on the Superman vol. 2 set, but ...

What do you think of this "THE BATMAN" series? I haven't read too many positives about it so far. Ugh. While the Dini/Timm series respected the character, eschewing silly Schumacher gimmicks in lieu of genuine detective work (something that has yet to manifest itself in any of the ...

I'm a rabid fan of all the Paul Dini/Bruce Timm animated superhero shows, from Batman: TAS to Superman (neck-and-neck with the original Richard Donner film as the "definitive" interpretation of the character) to Batman Beyond (sounded like a terrible idea at first, but surprisingly inventi...
