Re: Calls to Save TCM After Top Staff Fired
Very sad. TCM used to be one of my favorite channels back when I had cable...could sit there and watch programming all day.

I am a Lifer when it comes to Williams...lol...I will find some way to like it!
Agreed Andy - TINTIN and TLW are a couple of my least favorite scores of his as well.

Re: New Oscar Diversity Rules "Ridiculous"
This announcement makes me feel like those who are wanting Hollywood to return to some semblance of sanity are, ultimately, a vocal minority who are not having a significant effect on the issue. It also makes me feel that the Oscars, as irrelevant as they were before, have reached the lowest depth i...

Re: Truly Memorable Movies since 2000?
For me there are only a few really memorable films post-2000. The LOTR trilogy was super-memorable for me as was The Dark Knight trilogy from Nolan. After watching Blade Runner 2049 a second time, while it does not have the impact the first film does, I really feel it was a well made film and memora...

Re: Eddie Murphy and THE PINK PANTHER
The reason the series worked was entirely because of Sellers. He was one of a kind in what he did and NO ONE else could do this character or continue that franchise. I don't think they are they going ever to realize that no one can fill Sellars' shoes. Benigni couldn't cut it, Martin and didn't. Bu...

Re: rate the last movie you saw
Couldn't agree more Paul - great write up! I used to advocate for the Deckard is a Replicant ending...but many years ago I changed my tune. For me BLADE RUNNER is an emotionally powerful and moving film. Roy's "Tears in the Rain" speech at the end makes me cry every time I watch the film.....

Re: "Happy Made Up" STAR WARS Day!
I am taking him with a large grain of salt. It doesn't seem like any changes are 'really' happening at Disney. Maybe the Indiana Jones movie got changed as a result of the outcry, but KK is still in place and it appears SW is going to move forward in a way that will irritate many fans despite the ru...

Super excited about this film...hope I have not psychologically set the bar too high as I do not want to be disappointed! Making my way through all the DUNE prequel novels (one per month) in route to reading DUNE (1967) again before the movie comes out. I am on pace and holding steady.

Re: INDIANA JONES & THE DIAL OF DESTINY - "Frantic Reshoots" STILL On-Going
One thing that irritates me about the new film is that the villains appear to be Nazis....again. Three of the five films therefore have Nazis as the primary enemy. Maybe the title of the film should be INDIANA JONES AND THE NAZIS (AGAIN). I understood it for the original trilogy, but as a one-off th...

DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER by Ian Fleming (1956, 229 pages). James Bond returns in this follow-up to MOONRAKER, this time with the assignment to infiltrate a diamond smuggling operation in order to discover who is behind it all. Bond takes on the identity of Peter Franks, a small time crook who is suppose...
