Re: Weekend Box Office 9/8 - "Mid" BEETLEJUICE Sequel Rolls to Records

And of course nothing else playing which is part of it too.

I read through the list of weekly releases between now and January. I might go once maybe twice to the movies again this year and that's it. It's incredible how barren the product is between now and well into 2025.

Weekend Box Office 9/8 - "Mid" BEETLEJUICE Sequel Rolls to Records

Can't say I've seen any good reviews really of BEETLEJUICE but the nostalgia machine has churned out another hit for WB. 1.) Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (WB) 4575 theaters, Fri $41.8M, Sat $41.8M Sun $26.4M, 3-day $110M/Wk 1 2.) Deadpool & Wolverine (Dis) 3400 (-230) theaters Fri $1.7M Sat $3.3M Sun...

Re: Halloween Horror Marathon 2024

Ironically, I am pretty sure THE WOLFMAN was the last time I took my Dad to a movie theater...way back in 2010. He still got out a lot but we never did the movie thing so much after that.

Re: Aliens vs Predator Films - Which Version?

Indeed, I think that's the cheapest and best option John. These got released once on Blu-Ray and that's been it. The first AVP especially really needs a remaster but every version is stuck with the same old MPEG-2 Blu-Ray transfer (except for, apparently, a selected few European releases -- NOT the ...

Re: Halloween Horror Marathon 2024

All my best to you and your family MJ on the loss of your Dad. My Dad passed nearly 2 years ago now and so much of my memories of growing up in the 80s were going to see movies on Friday afternoon after he'd leave work and I'd get out of school. It got even better when I was in high school and we'd ...

Re: Potential ZAZ 4K set incoming

That transfer wasn't anything special either as it was clearly an old master. An actual 4K remaster of the movie would be welcome and the chance to do a better transfer of the sound would be great because that mix sucked on the Blu-Ray like you said. Paramount has a 4K remaster of AIRPLANE II out th...

Re: JAWS 4K UHD with Original Poster Artwork - $11.99

Yeah...for $11 though it's so cheap, you might as well. As for next year, you betcha they will -- at the very least it'll be some souped up repackaging (I doubt the disc itself is going to be remastered as it doesn't need it). I actually heard that from a VERY connected source, that there's going to...

Re: Imprint/ViaVision (Australia) Thread: New Announcements

I don't know if their 4K licensing will be different than their Blu-Rays, but they've released "standard" versions of pretty much every big seller they've put out. I'm sure they'd be coy on this and try to sell as many units of the expensivo set as they can, but I'd expect they would put o...

Re: Imprint/ViaVision (Australia) Thread: New Announcements

Of all of those, that's the one that's probably worth importing since WB owns it here and is never going to release something that lavish. There will be releases of the others (well, maybe not PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT lol). Imprint doesn't even send review product regularly anymore...I just had...

Re: Imprint/ViaVision (Australia) Thread: New Announcements

Prices are absurd. $250 Australian just for THE NEVERENDING STORY (about $170 USD)!

They likely will do a non-deluxe release with just the discs at some point. CONVOY was also announced for overseas and I can't imagine A BRIDGE TOO FAR wouldn't land from Kino (or someone) at some point.

Re: STAR TREK Live-Action Comedy Coming -- and a Musical Too!

Wonder if it's all DOA now with Skydance's purchase of Paramount happening.

And honestly if this is what it's going to take to end this current TREK cycle then so be it (disgusting scum if true)
