Re: Weekend Box Office 3/18 - What Else Is New?
Black Panther is still selling a lot of tickets. That's surprising. Is this normal for Marvel? For a movie about a black superhero released during Black History Month, it's not surprising how much money Black Panther has made. The fact that it's really good has certainly helped, especially with rep...

You didn't like Mortal Kombat or the Jean Claude Van Damme Street Fighter? There has never been -- nor will there ever be -- a good movie based on a video game.
It's crazy how many major blockbusters are forgotten to time...

Re: Disney Buys Fox, Acquires Film/TV Assets, Fox Keeps Broadcast Outlets
Based on what I saw in the article, they seem to think the hold up is owning cable networks. Why wouldn't that also be an issue with Disney? Both Comcast and Disney have major national cable networks. I guess Comcast would get a near monopoly on RSN's vs Disney who currently has 0. If Comcast doesn'...

Tomb Raider Reboot
I saw a trailer while watching the Olympics. how are they already remaking this? Didn't the original come out in the 2000's?

I guess if people keep buying movie tickets, they'll keep pumping out films.

Apparently Comcast is trying to swoop in on the FOX assets being offered to Disney. Is that any better?

Re: Disney Buys Fox, Acquires Film/TV Assets, Fox Keeps Broadcast Outlets
I hope I'm wrong too. This deal really isn't a good thing for anyone other than comic book nerds. ...and potentially those with RSN's in FOX markets. The FOX RSN's (other than YES) are really lacking in local content compared to the Comcast RSNs, NESN, etc. Who knows what Disney will do with them, ...

Re: Disney Buys Fox, Acquires Film/TV Assets, Fox Keeps Broadcast Outlets
Yeah I dont know. FS1 has nothing to do with the sale, nor does Fox Sports itself. The regional networks from what I can see are just a throwaway. Fox didn't want them, ESPN absorbs them, but they're all local contracts so it's not as if they can do anything with them on a national scale outside ma...

Re: Warner Announces Major DC Shake-Up After JUSTICE LEAGUE Failure
I don't know why WB bothers with these films, nobody likes them (other than Wonder Woman). The DC TV universe is very well done and popular - there's no need for a competing universe. Is there anyone who didn't think the 4 part "Crisis on Earth X" was significantly better than this Justice...

Re: Where (and when) did you first see each of the Star Wars movies?
The original trilogy I first saw on VHS as my parents had the tapes. I watched them more or less back to back, so I didn't have the experience of the previous generation who had to wait 3 years in between each film. This had to have been in the early 90s. I remember getting the Star Wars Anthology 4...

Re: Disney Buys Fox, Acquires Film/TV Assets, Fox Keeps Broadcast Outlets
What's shocking to me is the regional sports networks. A lot of FS1's live baseball content came from the Regional contracts. ESPN certainly doesn't need any more MLB windows. Does that mean less national games for fans? Do those extra games that were on FS1 move to MLB Network? i can see why FOX wo...

Re: STAR WARS EPISODE VIII: THE LAST JEDI - Opens $12 Million Under TFA
Problem is that the audience reaction numbers are really not good and it's not just fanboys who don't like where the plot went.
Where are you seeing bad numbers? it's 93% on Rotten Tomatoes. 8 out of 10 on IMDB.
People seemed really excited in my theater. Probably 4 or 5 scenes with applause.

Re: STAR WARS EPISODE VIII: THE LAST JEDI - December 15th
Is anyone buying the CD? The movie reuses the FORCE AWAKENS main title, and apparently there's next to no concert arrangements. Lots of short cues. Sadly. I listened to it on Amazon Music. Apparently the whole album is available for free on YouTube. I liked it. Lots of themes from the origin...
