HITCHER Remake Details

Michael Bay is the man bringing back THE HITCHER. He hopes to make the lead a female, and once again Jessica Biel's name is being thrown around. After TEXAS CHAINSAW and AMITYVILLE HORROR, I have absolutely no hope this movie will turn out well. http://www.moviehole.net/news/5477.html The original r...

Scorehead, I opted to carry it over as a capsule for the magazine column, which I literally just finished. The set was nice, but I was never really a big aficionado of the series...kind of seemed stuck between X-Files leftovers and its own intentions. Then again, it wasn't all bad -- something that ...

deseveredly so!!! I hated the japanese original already and thought bringing in the director of that is not a good idea and now eveybody knows why. How on earth anyone could like the japanese RING and say the US remake is crap is beyond me. I found RINGU the Japanese version to be dull. The pacing ...

OK I think I've gotten to the bottom of this. Talk about confusing, though it ultimately sounds like what we were thinking.... Here's an excerpt from Stellan Skarsgard's website (http://www.stellanonline.com/exorcistschrader.html), with Paul Schrader commenting on the score: -------------- "I w...

I agree about Angelo. He's done some interesting, weird work -- along with some nice conventional scoring as well (Christmas Vacation, Cousins).

Let's see if it turns out to be true.

Angelo Badalamenti is listed now on the IMDB (along with Tevor Rabin)...it's weird that the movie has been screened but nobody has commented on it.

yeah, Verbinskys RING is fantastic... one of the best horror movies of the decade... and compared to the japanese original and its us sequel it is a good example of what a talented director brings to a movie. RING 2 made everything wrong... Roman -- I agree wholeheartedly! :) Didn't see RING TWO......

Roman, believe me -- the Lutz father goes from nice guy to possessed mad man in the span of, oh, 10 seconds after moving in. There's no development of anything. They even added a drug-smoking sexpot babysitter in what had the entire audience laughing outloud. What's weird, some of the TV spots actua...

Saw the movie last night. It's competent, but nothing more. Well directed and acted, but routine and dull, with far too many derivative aspects (THE RING's influence can easily be felt as the "invisible friend" of the young Lutz daughter is visible throughout as a semi-vengeful little dead...

Just watched a good dose of the HARDY BOYS box. Thankfully Shaun Cassidy's immortal classic DA DO RON RON is still there in its entirety!

Interesting...I'm still trying to get over the changes in the GREATEST AMERICAN HERO sets. I flipped through them initially but as I'm compiling my magazine column, I can't believe how many of the songs were replaced, including the covers by Joey Scarbury! And to think there's no disclaimer either -...

Mike,
I've sadly never seen THE WIRE, but have heard nothing but good things. I think I recall seeing something about the third season as well coming to DVD, but I may have been mistaken.

Andy, if I remember correctly there is a whale sound in the DTS mix, but it's not the same was the one that appeared in the original mix. Aaah, okay. I hate to admit this but I don't have a problem with the new sound FX -- especially when the shark blows up at the end of the film. The old sound eff...
