Re: Battlestar Galactica (1978) - Blu Ray Release?

That still makes no sense at all. Larson has said he first conceived of the "Adam's Ark" concept that eventually became Galactica as early as 1969 I think. That format does have a slight similiarity to 1999 just in terms of people leaving Earth but the final version of a storyline where it...

Re: Battlestar Galactica (1978) - Blu Ray Release?

I think it's safe to say that Bosco doesn't have the faintest idea of what he's talking about. How can you do an "American adaptation" of a show that was basically made for the American syndication market first and foremost and with American stars?

Re: Battlestar Galactica (1978) - Blu Ray Release?

What was he claiming about a connection? Other than the fact that Larson's very first idea was about people leaving Earth going out into space, I don't see what the connection is at all.

Re: This Week's Aisle Seat - Memorial Day Edition

Question about Cleopatra. Is the Entr'acte at the start of the second disc? The old DVD put it at the end of the first disc which was a tad awkward (I also remember how the initial pressing left off the Exit Music and I was one of those at Home Theater Forum raising the roof for them to fix that!) I...

Re: BEWITCHED Seasons 1-7 Free on Amazon Instant Video

Endora is the reason why I can sometimes find myself HATING Bewitched beacuse never has there been a character from a vintage sitcom I have come to hate more than Endora. No fault of Agnes Moorhead who played her to the hilt, but Endora defines the character of a shrew to the max (and the "Durw...

And many seasons of Bewitched are worth just that, NOTHING! :D

Re: Rate The Last TV Show Episode You Watched

A couple more TZ episodes from the Blu-Ray. "The Long Morrow." 7.5 of 10. It's strengths come from the fact that it plays more like an intimate stage drama because if they'd tried for too much authenticity with bigger sets, more extras etc. then all the internal scientific absurdities of t...

Re: rate the last movie you saw

I think its unfortunate that a key artistic decision based on who the director was chummier with ultimately dictated that point. Even before I came to feel that IV was not a good film overall (so much so that it cured me of being a Trekkie forever), my first reaction at not hearing Horner's theme wh...

Re: rate the last movie you saw

I disagree on IV. To me, the humor comes at the wrong time in the final act of a three movie story arc and in the end finishes the process of undermining everything that was great about II that III started. The "message" IMO was in-your-face, plus the intrusion of an idea that no one used ...

Re: Rate The Last TV Show Episode You Watched

Well, after "The Time Element" I sampled these episodes from the Blu-Ray set. "A Penny For Your Thoughts" (Season 2) 7 of 10 -One of the few successful comic episodes of TZ thanks in large part to Dick York showing the great sense of comic timing that landed him immortality in &q...

Re: Rate The Last TV Show Episode You Watched

I traded in some DVDs I wasn't watching and never inclined to watch and in the process the gift card allowed me to get the Blu Ray set of Twilight Zone for $47! Just watched "The Time Element". I still had the one-shot TV Land broadcast from the late 90s when the channel debuted (back when...

Re: Rate The Last TV Show Episode You Watched

Somebody has been posting all the old "Donny And Marie" variety show episodes to YT of late. I found something that fascinated me in seeing a show that not only had Raquel Welch as a guest but also a sketch sending up "Battlestar Galactica". It was a typically bad sketch, but a f...

Re: rate the last movie you saw

The Day Reagan Was Shot (2001) 2 of 10. -Even though Oliver Stone only executive produced this, it still plays like a ridiculous Oliver Stone directed film about recent history. In this case, a day of near tragedy which certainly did feature some moments of chaos and disorder behind the scenes, is ...
