Re: THE CAT FROM OUTER SPACE (1978) - One of the Worst Films Ever Made!
I also saw THE CAT FROM OUTER SPACE in a theater, one of the first movies I remember seeing (along with RETURN FROM WITCH MOUNTAIN.) I wouldn't call it one of the worst films ever made but I'm also under no illusions about the quality of Disney's output in the late 70s/early 80s. The new movies may ...

I had never heard of NOW YOU SEE IT before I saw it on Buzzr. It's weird the way Narz keeps saying, "Letter...letter...letter."

Re: GONE WITH THE WIND Pulled From HBO Max
What I don't get is the claims that GWTW "glorifies" the South and racism. It's a story about a spoiled, arrogant woman who must come to grips with her life taking a drastic turn as the South crumbles around her. It's about how a large portion of America went through a radical change in th...

Re: The Post-Corona Movie Theater Thread: 70% in Poll Say They'd "Rather Stay Home"
I suspect a lot of people are going to emerge from this pandemic with a measure of PTSD, and will never go to the movies again. And I’m sure this will extend to a lot of other things as well — sporting events, amusement parks, houses of worship, etc. My wife took our kids to an indoor trampoline pa...

Re: rate the last movie you saw
What's baffling to me isn't that Disney allowed a subversive Star Wars movie to be made, it's that they allowed it to happen in the penultimate installment of a nine movie series! I doubt fans would have been quite as angry if The Last Jedi was a stand-alone movie that had nothing to do with the mai...

Re: Twilight Time - Inventory-Wide Sales
Placed an order earlier this week and it's already here:
Edge of Eternity
Warlock
The Seven Ups.
All blind buys. Some widescreen 50's genre titles and a 70's movie with what I've heard has a terrific car chase.

I watched half of Pray for the Wildcats on YouTube a month ago after it was discussed on a TV podcast i listen to. Shatner's hair is indeed something to behold and Griffith is memorably and uncharacteristically evil but there's way too much dirt biking going on.

Attending my friend's annual 24-hour Film Fest tomorrow, starting at 6:00 PM sharp. After I awaken from my coma at some point on Sunday, I'll post about it here. :) Woke up a few hours ago from my post-Fest slumber, still a bit high and addled from sleep deprivation, but happy from another 24 hours...

This whole coronavirus thing is getting out of hand. The media is causing people to panic unnecessarily . I work for a health insurance company and have heard some interesting statistics coming from the head of my department. For example, the total number of worldwide cases of coronavirus right now ...

key phrases from that article: "ambient drone" and "eschewing melody" I clicked on one of the YouTube videos, then after a while scrolled down and clicked on the next one, which meant I was hearing two pieces at the same time...and didn't notice. One piece does a remarkable job a...

Re: Read a Book, then Watch Its Movie!
Great analysis, Michael! I finished listening to the audio book yesterday. I had read Dune many years ago but had forgotten much of it and thought it was time for a re-read, especially since the new movie version is coming later this year. The audio book is excellent with a full cast reading much of...

Re: OBI-WAN Series "On Indefinite Hold," Crew Sent Home for "Retooling"
I think the future of live-action Star Wars will be on Disney +. I doubt they expected The Mandalorian to be as big as it was and now the other planned Star Wars TV series are probably under an intense amount of pressure. I'd hate to be whoever is in charge of that Rogue One prequel series right now...
