Re: Imprint/ViaVision (Australia) Thread: New Announcements
I can see a Blu-Ray for sure, just surprised they're still piping out a DVD box at this point in time.

Re: rate the last movie you saw
Yes, thanks Eric, I remembered you writing that up and I found it via a board search. Seems like it was stuck in that era where Hollywood was trying, at times, to strike a "can't we all just get along" tone in a lot of these films. Either way it's a movie that, beyond that, could have stil...

Re: rate the last movie you saw
ST. IVES 6.5/10 TELEFON 5/10 Wan Charles Bronson vehicles from the mid 70s both popped out on Blu-Ray earlier this year -- neither are particularly memorable, and one is an outright fizzle given the people involved in its production. ST. IVES does feature one of Bronson's more enjoyable performance...

Re: rate the last movie you saw
Why watch Waterworld when you can get the real thing?!!? I do like Waterworld alright. I don't think the Exxon Valdez stuff was meant to be taken seriously. David Twohy wrote a lot of good scripts back in the 90s and some of his work is in Waterworld, I'd imagine the Hopper scenes since they display...

Re: HORIZON: Costner's two-part western epic
Maybe Costner should've waited to see how these first two parts were received before throwing money at more of them? Or maybe editing them down into something coherent? Sounds DREADFUL. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-reviews/horizon-an-american-saga-chapter-one-review-kevin-costner-1...

Re: KINGDOM OF THE PLANET OF THE APES - Andy's Review
That's exactly my point Michael. It's like they're telling these peripheral stories around the "edges" of PLANET OF THE APES but the draw of those movies was this kind of wild, funny, black comic look at a world where apes were running the show. Here, we're "getting there" but ag...

Re: KINGDOM OF THE PLANET OF THE APES - Andy's Review
I just assumed she put it away but I agree, they could've just put an establishing shot there clarifying she wasn't holding "it". I should clarify that I wasn't bored per se -- I just felt the pacing was slack. For me nearly every scene felt like it could have cut in half. There was no sub...

Sony must've repressed another round because this is back in-stock at all the usual suspects. https://www.amazon.com/Lawrence-Arabia-Anniversary-Limited-Steelbook/dp/B09TLBJNPT?crid=2SPV9QJYBVXL5&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.n1Ef98jSm6RXDYHRlb6ZazNF_uR6kEjPgMvEtG9ipb3lW_2_YPcUe9GlbmfHqOX5jB4CjYmzCVqsfB6jzUO...

Re: rate the last movie you saw
As Paul said I've never been a big LABYRINTH fan -- it's ok but is too lightweight and I dislike the Trevor Jones synth score -- and WILLOW was a missed opportunity that I've never been big into either. I don't even like Horner's score! THE DARK CRYSTAL on the other hand is a spectacular achievement...

Re: KINGDOM OF THE PLANET OF THE APES - Memorial Day
7/10 The very definition of "servicebale," Wes Ball's continuation of the modern-day APES retains its mostly humorless, glum tone as post-pandemic apes butt heads with a few stray humans running about. The audience here follows one thoughtful simian named Noah as he tries to save his "...

The overseas Fox Blu-Rays of LEGEND aren't region coded so any release you get wouldn't be locked. They also have the longer version as a "bonus feature"

Re: rate the last movie you saw
Too bad the European version can't be seen as well since I get that's a different rights holder. It's not a different rights holder per se -- Fox has the movie overseas, Universal domestically, but they co-own it depending on where you are. The European version was easily found (and still can be) i...
