Pirates: At World's End - 4/10

Depp and Rush were good, but I have no idea what the movie was about. Bloom and Knightley also seemed to be reduced to mere decoration.

I tell you what though, I've said it a thousand time probably, I admire people like F13 producer Frank Mancuso Jr. because he comes right out and acknowledges it's about commerce. It isn't really this thing to smear him, but it's this whole different level of respect when they are honest about their...

Carpenter and Howarth's score for this sequel is easily one of their best. That may be faint praise for some, but I think it's quite atmospheric. "Chariots of Pumpkins" is a terrific track and the whole score is equally satisfying and moody. The movie was an unfortunate, if well-shot and ...

That's a key word that the owners of these franchises rarely think about--PROGRESS. Of course sequels are about making money, but how about making the series' develop, so when people hear that another installment is on the way, they're intrigued to see something they haven't seen before, and not ju...

It's interesting to be of my age group, to be really into horror films, and yet not like the movie that so many consider THE horror movie of their day. I found HALLOWEEN a complete bore, and watching Siskel and Ebert try to make it seem like a great movie is actually what made me stop taking them s...

Halloween 3

If you're into moody scores that really are not your typical, I'd give this one a go. I was fortunate to have someone over at FSM highlight to me that this 1,000-copy release had been out almost a year and still had not sold out. As to the movie, the idea to get away from Michael Myers was an intere...

Eddie...I'm begging you... lay off the kiddie comedies . lol, all that will do is enable him to make more crap that's NOT a kiddie film. ;) Look at all the trash he's churned out in the last 20 years or so...most of these aren't kiddie movies and they're just as bad!! “The Golden Child” “Harlem Nig...

I received the score to Dracula AD1972 today. Booklet was signed by Caroline Munro and Mike Vickers. Well worth the wait from BSX. It strikes me as nothing short of mystifying how long that company takes to send you the merchandise. The booklets had to be sent to England to be signed. I'm happy eno...

MJ your Halloween idea for DRAG ME TO HELL probably would've been a good one. I'll be so excited when the SAW series comes to a close too. Revised weekend estimates...UP gets a boost from the kiddie matinees to take over #1. LAND OF THE LOST completely bombed with a gross under $20 million...that's...

I think this is one of Filthy's better reviews in some time. http://www.bigempire.com/filthy/ I like Up, but I don't love it. That surprised me, because after the first fifteen minutes I was ready to love it, more than my wife, more than a car, even more than a few brands of beer and Robitussin. The...
