Re: Madame Web...the latest Sony Spidey Spin-Off Suckfest
Someone's going to have to pay me to sit through this. It's too bad, the concept of this movie -- which is as much about introducing Spider-Woman and those associated characters -- doesn't seem as if it was totally misguided, but the way things have gone, it's no surprise the resulting film is a me...

Madame Web...the latest Sony Spidey Spin-Off Suckfest
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s_76M4c4LTo This was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo bad . I realize Sony has to release one of these every few years to keep Spider-Man under their ownership (or else Disney will swoop in like vultures), but this makes Morbius look like Spider-Man 2 . Hell, it may...

Re: Another good "Hang on to you physical media" article
Streaming has its place...for "renting" a movie or show. But if it's good enough to watch a second time, it's worth owning.

Re: Another good "Hang on to you physical media" article
I've been warning about this for at LEAST the last decade. I'll take the "clutter" and "inconvenience" of physical media over having my movies, shows and music edited without my consent to appease the most current cycle of outrage over now "problematic" elements.

Directed by the master of roiling visual kinesis, the man who gave us this...! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQ0gFidlro8 Remember when you have to have SOME experience making this kind of F/X movie before you got handed a big franchise reboot? Spielberg had been making F/X movies for almost ...

Re: Darkman coming to 4K UHD.
The deleted scenes reel is FASCINATING, especially the Ted Raimi stuff, which indicates that his demise in the finished film was a reshoot (and that he was left totally insane and ranting and raving in an alley after being toyed with and tormented by Darkman, instead of being killed outright). Also ...

Disney, $equels, $equels, $equels...!
https://twitter.com/DiscussingFilm/status/1755351713706324268 Moana 2 being recontextualized from a D+ series into a theatrical movie late in the game is not an encouraging idea. :? It's obvious Disney realizes that streaming is not the fountain of money they anticipated in 2020, and are in desperat...

Re: Darkman coming to 4K UHD.
It did OK in theaters but the R rating undoubtedly hurt it at the box-office though, I remember the theater being packed with kids and teens (like me!) being chapperoned by their parents. I remember a lot of the comic books I was buying at the time had the poster on the back covers. Would not happe...

Re: Darkman coming to 4K UHD.
Sounds good though. I mean that old master really was in need of updating so it won't take much. The deleted scenes sound like the rare time Shout accessed some library materials on their own but between this and Jennifer 8 that's a good job by them. I was expecting nothing but a handful of brief s...

Re: Darkman coming to 4K UHD.
Someone in the BR.com forums got their copy today, and... Got my copy early, checked Deleted Scenes and there is 37 minutes worth and look to be from a film source. I fast forwarded to see what was included and the famous scene with the villain naked on the bed of gold is there! There also seems to ...

Re: ARGYLLE - Matthew Vaughn $200 Mil Apple Disaster
Also, same criticisms seem to apply to this movie as all the others (i.e. sections of it are completely unnecessary). He seems totally unable to reign in his tendencies. You'd think by now he'd have figured it out but... Directors have been given carte blanche with runtimes for so long, it's negati...

Re: ARGYLLE - Henry Cavill, Bryce Dallas Howard - February
His movies usually get ruined by 15 minutes of vulgar excesses and it's a lesson he's yet to learn. Ironically, Argylle is a PG-13 movie! And it feels like an R-rated movie that got severely edited for that rating, with action sequences lacking the blood-bag gore I was expecting from Vaughn.
