"Thank you sir - may I have another?"

Andy - no - you're not alone on your views. Interestingly, I would like to know the age of those who're loving this film, which, I'm sure, plays a bit of a factor. I'm in my mid 30's, still love a thrill ride of a film when I can find one, but have always needed real care to be taken with regards to...

WAR OF THE WORLDS: Reaction Thread

"Like getting kneed in the Nutz, but not a funny." What a mess - this film made no sense at all, and any semblance to the original story have been ditched in favor of film making for audiences suffering from Attention Deficit Disorder. Maybe I have I just grown too complacent in my old age...

Those double dipping schmucks!!! As if this film is worth watching in the first place without the restored score reinserted.

I take back everything nice that I said about this movie.

Say - has ISHTAR been released on DVD yet?

This really isn't all that bad a film. It's detraction is that it treads into the all too familiar territory of the tried and true romantic comedy formula. People shouldn't go to these films to see a cutting edge eye opener. That's were they set them selves up. True to be said, this film is a cute a...

Hey, No need to make excuses for for guilty vices - we all have them, just some people like dog crap on their shoes, too. I might be only one of the few who liked ELECTRA (2 out of 4 stars) and thought that THE LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN was a pretty fun romp. A more interesting thread here m...

A certain level of credit must be given to any director having the courage to take on the fan base that follows these film, which must be the most daunting aspect of getting these pictures made. Seriously, anyone who sleeps with their favorite pair of super hero under-roos tightly constricting their...

Ugh!!! I'd like to say that my previous posting on how bad the trailer was didn't live up to how bad I thought this film was going to be - but it was far worse, for a lot of the same reasons that Andy sited. Again, it looks like they totally forgot that Bat-Man is a detective, a concept that was com...

HITCH - isolated score?

Wasn't the "HITCH" DVD suppose to have George Fention's score isolated on an alternate channel?

Best,

This gets even stranger - as I've seen this SE DVD newly advertised elsewhere as having at least the documentry on Jerry Fielding. Still, it wasn't indictaed on the back of the DVD box as one of it's supliments.

This frick'n sucks!!!

As a follow up, Here's what I found, from: http://on.starblvd.net/cgi-bin/bbsmsg?peckinpah&tr=379 "One of the highlights for film music fans will be the DVD of THE GETAWAY, which is expected to feature the film's rejected Jerry Fielding score isolated on a separate audio track, spotted exac...

I looked it over yesterday and there was no mention of the score being reinserted, although I was certain that I heard that somewhere. I did pick up the new 2 disc DVD version of BULLET and have marveled that Warner Bros. did it right with this special edition. The films digital transfer is crisp an...

It's almost like they have completely forgotten that Batman is, first and foremost, an analytical character. A detective who's second only to Sherlock Holmes when is come to deductive reasoning (after that comes Lassie, natch). If they could only be a bite more subdued with the superhero theatrics a...

I concur with all of the comments that have been posted. The trailer is about as boring as anything that I've seen (ISHTAR?) and hasn't built up any excitement for me wanting to see it. When the trailer came on at the recent midnight OPENING of Revenge of the Sith, it only got moans from the obvious...

The Getaway DVD

Anyone know if the newly released DVD of THE GETAWAY has the rejected Jerry Fielding score reinserted?

Thanks,

Andy,

You mentioned in your column two weeks ago that you were going to review The Lone Gunmen DVD set - what happened to that review?

Understandably curious,
