Incidentally, I wish I had access to those Laserdisc transfers to DVD. I have a copy of the original trilogy that was given to me by a family member who brought back a set from CHINA several years ago, but the chapter stops are horrible, audio and video is out of sync in spots, and the Dolby Digita...

I can't believe YOU would spend that kind of money for...this. Well Eric, I figure it will be collectible. I've done enough international shopping, so I assume it'll have some worth....plus I have a penchant for really bad movies, which I totally plead guilty for. When they do the limited box set o...

Sorry that was me posting (obviously) -- I had to log in through the Admin account because there are phony spammer bots joining the message board. I'm trying to figure out how they're doing it (I have to go in and delete them each time).

Warner has apparently confirmed there will be TWO seperate versions of ALEXANDER on DVD in the USA: both the shortened and re-edited Director's Cut, plus the Theatrical Cut (in its own release). God knows what the supplements will be, but I would anticipate a "mix and match" with unique ex...

In an interview given in Australia recently, George Lucas talked about life after Star Wars. Lucas stated that he is working on a new Star Wars TV series. It will be shot in Australia and a deal will be done in June. The show will be one hundred episodes long and an hour each. http://www.isnnews.ne...

They should bring Brosnan back for the final Bond film and just end this series as best they can. Hell will freeze over before this series will end  Now that Sony has it, it'll become one of their tentpole franchises. Hopefully they will have a better idea how to talk Eon into making quality ...

MANHUNTER Theatrical Cut DVD (Japan DTS) for $12.99

Just a heads-up for anyone out there who might be an aficionado of Michael Mann's MANHUNTER (superlative IMO to "Silence of the Lambs" and especially "Red Dragon"). The original, genuine theatrical cut -- which actually has still NEVER been released in the U.S. (Anchor Bay's so c...

It seems like Brosnan's return is just one more peg we can add to the rumor mill. Two days ago USA Today ran a full spread on the candidates -- with an entire section exclusively devoted to Daniel Craig, who they tabbed as still being the leading contender. (USA Today generally isn't considered a ta...

I picked up the Region 2 Special Edition last year and enjoyed it truthfully a lot more than SHAUN. I don't know why they don't do a DVD over here, but it's possibly the fact that Brit-coms don't sell as well on this side of the Atlantic, sadly. Certainly a worthwhile and often uproarious show howev...

Im suprised that there is anybody willing to give Stone some extra money to recut the movie... it bombed so badly, why even lose more money??? Those who didnt like it wont give it a second chance, and if Iam in a store and have to chose between "original version" and "recut version&q...

Until he puts the original cuts out on DVD though, he won't be getting any money from me. The old CAV LD boxed set (with the films transferred to DVD) more than satisfies me now. I'm with you Eric, I did the same thing late last year. That cut footage was one of my hang-ups with the DVD box he rele...

ALEXANDER Re-Cut For DVD

Oliver Stone has apparently confirmed that he's re-cut ALEXANDER, streamlining the structure of his original version. He claims both his original version and the re-cut edition will be released on DVD, though overseas, only the theatrical cut will be available (which I assume for bad movie lovers wi...

Lucas Confirms STAR WARS DVD Box Set (Again) Plus More

What a surprise!! ;) George Lucas confirmed a few things at the Indianapolis comic convention he attended over the weekend, namely: -There's a 6 DVD set of the whole series coming out with a possible bonus DVD showing CUT SCENES from the original Trilogy. No surprise here, as their absence was one o...

or it just got Lynch`s attention and he doesn`t want this to happen, like that incident with the LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS DVD... But the deal is that DUNE really isn't "his" movie -- it's Dino DeLaurentiis'. He owns it, and that TV cut has been released EVERYWHERE else in the world except f...
