well... of course QUARANTINE is a remake again... but even if it looks cheap, the original was very scary... the final 5 minutes are truly heartstopping. As the trailer of Q shows it is a shot for shot remake I guess it is equally well done. Nothing really new, but REC (the original) is outstanding....

Ridley Scott really should stop doing this kind of movies and for once go back to SF or Fantasy territory. Im really tired of his latest bunch of movies... again he is back to the hit and miss career... well, good thing is that with this bomb Hans Zimmer-Programmer Streitenfeld doesnt get his career...

I didnt mean sequels and I dont think TDK is regarded as a remake by anyone... I was referring to the countless Bay-remakes and all the rest of mostly unnecessary horror-remakes of the last couple years. There is not much left anyway... haha suprised that no one tackled a FRIGHT NIGHT remake so far,...

both directors and horner are interesting choices (in case horner does it). Definitely makes the remake a justified one (so far... that the writers wrote BOOGEYMAN however shouldnt go unnoticed... haha), but somehow Im afraid Horner would go the synth-drone way, as any orchestral work no matter how ...

Mummy was quite a gamble for Universal. The 2nd was so many years ago, it could easily have been that no one was interested anymore and also no Rachel Weisz made it look even more uninteresting. They really should have killed her off or something and not just replace her. I like Maria Bello, but she...

seems like this summer is overall very successful... even hancock did very well... only losers are speed racer (big time) and hellboy 2 (i never thought the first one was succesfull enough to greenlight a sequel, and despite deltoro's now a critic's darling, his pan's labyrinth had by far not as big...

I can't understand how producers spend so much money on a score and then in the end mix it so low, that you dont hear it anymore. It is too bad if it has get hacked up, but that is sometimes unavoidable, but then mixing it low, because apparently you dont like it is hurting the movie even more. Same...

so what do you think of the score Andy? You were one of the defenders of Edelman? As I said before, I like him, but couldnt see him for a movie like this and the score is really awful, though in the movie it might fare better and Debney maybe saved the day... but I hated already the theme, so I dont...

so far not... studio keeps it quiet of course... but it is official nevertheless, he gets his credit of course ( i think in the end credits)... dont think cohen mentions it on the blog, it is probably like with KING KONG where suddenly nobody seems to remember that Shore scored it... haha it really ...

hi fellas... just got my copy of the score from Varese... and well... first let me say, that DRAGON is one of my all time fav scores, heck there are even parts in ANACONDA I like, Daylight is ok and Ghettysburg is fantastic, too. XXX is fun, though Im sure it is largely rescored by Media Ventures (e...

still, that doesnt look really like HELLBOY is making its money back... wasnt the budget like 150 million? Hulk is also leaving now, so I wonder whether they think this is enough to greenlight a third one? as they probably have to find yet again a new actor, maybe not... (well there are enough super...

agreed on all points... however I found it more entertaining than his last 3 movies... sometimes on an unintentional level, but still... with good actors (zooey acted as if she was still in a comedy... very distracting and mark wahlberg was never a lead to me... ok supporting actor who maybe should ...

Julyan's scores for Nolan's movies were always a bit too droney for me, but I love his DESCENT score... wonderfully beautiful and superscary and also original in context... too bad he wasnt allowed to work on BB... on PRESTIGE however isn't that one of the biggest misfire with that Heavy Metal song ...

god, SPEED RACER was utter trash... could make a fun evening though with friends and beers... but Im afraid it is too long for that. Rarely Ive seen such a miscalculation... who greenlit this thing? I guess he is looking for a new job now... and rightly so... still, the final race is quite astoundin...
