Re: DUNE Thread - Remakes, Re-Edits, etc. - 4K UHD Coming in August

Thanks for the reply, Andy :) Yeah, I considered the limited deluxe edition, but its a bit more money than that up here in Canada. I've never been too interested in extras, anyway. Plus, when I've bought these deluxe editions, its how well the slip case displays on a shelf that interests me, and thi...

Re: DUNE Thread - Remakes, Re-Edits, etc. - 4K UHD Coming in August

I've always liked Dune . I ended up ordering the 3 disk steel book version with the original poster art. I think the 'worm' art on the non-steel book releases is pretty ugly, although I find the artwork for all these ARROW releases lacking. I much prefer the artwork used for the German KOCH release....

Re: Disney Sets NATIONAL TREASURE TV Series With "Latina DREAMer" Lead and her "Diverse Group of Friends"

Not sure why people find American TV attractive these days... never mind anything else, full of violence, too. Bread and circuses, indeed. I like watching Korean shows. If anything they are too traditional as far as gender roles are concerned, but can be very imaginative and based on human relations...

Re: Kino Lorber March Madness Sale

Made another Kino order, mainly because I wanted to grab some releases before they went OOP in the While Supplies Last Sale. As Andy says, I can get the regular releases on sale another time and I've already blown my budget on those  The Lion in Winter (50th Anniversary Special Edition) $9.99 (...

Re: Kino Lorber March Madness Sale

Be careful of the end of RING OF BRIGHT WATER if you haven't seen it before, Sprocket.  Heard that before! :) Ended up getting Busting from another source as it just went OOP (also picked up OOP Dr. Goldfoot And The Girl Bombs ). I don't have very high expectations for either but o...

Re: Kino Lorber March Madness Sale

...they're so cheap you can take a chance on all kinds of titles as blind buys and not worry if the movie doesn't work out. Yep, did that deliberately with the Republic Pictures releases, especially. In building my next order, I'm looking at buying movies with 'unreleased' scores like Joan of Arc (...

Re: Kino Lorber March Madness Sale

I'm a Kino newbie because here in Canada their releases are quite expensive. So I don't have many. However, I finally signed up to the Kino site, and I've been studiously mining the While Supplies Last sale for the last couple of months. Figures in a Landscape $11.99 A Lady Takes a Chance $7.99 Manh...

Re: Corona Movie Theater Thread: 49% Say Movie Theaters Are Now "Obsolete"

MJ - don't panic. I didn't have my first serious girlfriend until I was 45. Sometimes it doesn't happen. Some people find it natural to get together with other people but others have to work at it. I went to university but I feel I put as much effort into trying to get a girlfriend as I did in study...

Nice to hear that The Grey Fox's transfer is OK.

Over at blu-ray.com they are saying it's really poor. I read that after buying it.

Re: Twilight Time - Inventory-Wide Sales

I picked up a few that I've been wanting for a while and which I think I will be unhappy to not get if they go OOP. 3 WORLDS OF GULLIVER QUILLER MEMORANDUM MEMBER OF THE WEDDING Plus, UNTAMED. I've bought quite a few TTs over the years, very few of which I have actually watched. This sale was in com...
