Re: rate the last movie you saw

THE EAGLE 7.5 Surprisingly good, well-made sword-and-sandal type adventure resists (for the most part) the temptation to be just a Gladiator clone. From the surroundings to the cinematography, attempt at developing character over action, this is a sturdy and entertaining film, even if it becomes sta...

Re: Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris - National Release

If you're a Woody devotee Michael I definitely would. It's the best reviewed film of his in a long, long time.

Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris - National Release

Sony Pictures Classics announced today that it is expanding Woody Allen's Midnight In Paris to 1038 screens for the weekend, making it the widest-released film of Allen's career. The comedy has been riding strong buzz and solid word-of-mouth that began with its well-received world premiere at the Ca...

GREEN LANTERN - The First Super-Flop of 2011?

Man I'd rather see GHOST RIDER 2 than this garbage.

The trailers were awful -- the reviews are just as bad. A whopping 19% positive, ranking it with the year's worst movies at this point.

When the FSM'ers can't stand what they've heard of Newton Howard's score....you know you've reached a new low!

No, you'll only get the cost of the item itself unless you say it was defective. I'd just keep it.

Best Buy - $5 off any Blu-Ray

Print out as many as you want...I ended up using 2 for 2 discs: CASINO ROYALE '67 and the ESPN 30 FOR 30 Blu-Ray box-set (both store exclusives). http://images.bestbuy.com/BestBuy_US/en_US/images/abn/2011/mm/pcon/movie_coupon_exp0731.pdf -Runs through 7/31 -Applies to titles $14.99 and up (may not w...

Re: LEGEND Blu-Ray - 5/31

I actually was skimming Amazon the other day and some of the comments people wrote in to someone's review really made my already dim view of humanity go down even further when I saw not only praise for the American version but some rather harsh bashing of Goldsmith's score in favor of the TD score....

Re: LEGEND Blu-Ray - 5/31

I've resurrected and reworked my 2002 FSM LEGEND article for a special Aisle Seat next week, including my interview with Charlie de Lauzirika.

Re: Blu-Ray Retailer Exclusives Thread

Thought I would make this an official type of thread since there are so many exclusives. Right now (as I wrote in this week's column) I believe they break down like this: Best Buy currently has the following Blu-Ray titles (most $10, others $10-$15) available exclusively (one imagines a national rel...

Re: Back to the Future Trilogy Blu-Ray $15 @ Amazon

Damn, one of the other titles I ordered ( 300 ) got shipped anyways, so I got stuck with the shipping costs. :? They charged you shipping after the fact? That shouldn't happen. If you have free super saver, if they let you cancel, you shouldn't have to pay the shipping even if the total goes under ...

Re: Back to the Future Trilogy Blu-Ray $15 @ Amazon

Thank God my order didn't ship yet...cancelled (well, most of it...there's one disc that's "attempting to cancel" at this point) and going to re-order. :D Yessssssssss! Don't you love it when it works out that way once in a while? $15 is just crazy, really. It's $5 a movie on Blu-Ray!! (Y...

Re: Back to the Future Blu-Ray Box $25 @ Amazon

Now down to $14.99 -- a price match with Target. Amazon no longer offers price adjustments on orders that have shipped (trust me; I've tried getting video game prices adjusted that drop the day after the game is released), BUT if you did order it last week, you can either return it, reorder it at th...
