UK Cinema posters for Battlestar Galactica and Mission Galactica:The Cylon Attack. I remember Mission Galactica playing opposite the Odeon Leicester Square, where The Empire Strikes Back was showing.

I remember seeing this picture in a UK magazine back in the late 70s and wondered which version of the pilot it's from. I seem to remember it might have been in the early Canadian version. Any thoughts?

I found a collection of US promos. Thought some people might like to see them.

That bloody version of Baltar's execution wasn't in the theatrical cut. Must have been as you say the earliest screening if it was used at all (though it may not have been).

I'm glad they wisely reconsidered and retained Colicos for the series. It turned out to be one of the best moves.

That first promo is amazing in that it has two things not in any version.

1-Apollo's line "Right here you creepy crawling" was different in the final version, which was "Right here you creeps." This was a change made when they decided the Cylons were pure robots and not reptiles underneath, which was the original idea. Clearly they started production not fully committed to the Cylons as robots who destroyed their reptile creators.

2-The close-up of Imperious Leader's face. No shots were ever used again, presumably out of the need to get away from the reptile idea.

3-The spot is narrated by longtime ABC staff announcer Ernie Anderson but that abrupt "The Android Sisters!" is clearly the Robot himself, Dick Tufeld.

Does anybody if this has been corrected, or does the buyer still need to send the disc off to Universal?

"There is missing footage during the episode, THE MAGNIFICENT WARRIORS, on disc 3 of the widescreen version of BATTLESTAR GALACTICA
- on both the Remastered Collection and Definitive Collection."

I believe you need to email Universal and have them send you a replacement disc.
I have no idea if they ever corrected this in the full sets or if they just sent replacements to the people who asked for them. Not sure that this was a big enough seller for them to do more than that.
If you email them, they can tell you if this is in error.

I never bothered since I never watch the widesecreen copies. The show wasn't filmed in that format so it adds nothing that way.

Thanks Kevin,

I'll email Universal and see if I get a reply.

Yes, I am aware of that.

From the information I read, it seemed to be present on both sets.

Unless someone knows different...?

As the anniversary date is looming, I thought I would pose a rather innocent question about a potential reissue. After all, with all the reissues Intrada are doing other scores, I thought why not ask.

As someone who hasn't read into the kickstarter campaign, who would know they are offering copies of the Battlestar Galactica CDS, if you pay out $300.

Of course, I didn't realise that's where the cool kids like to hang out...lol

I would only be interested if they could present the two missing cues from "Lost Planet of the Gods" that probably got burned up in the fire at Universal.
Those cues do exist at least as mixing elements, since they are part of the newer DTS-HD MA 5.1 mixes heard on the blus from 2015.

I know a lot of non-film music buff Galactica fans who got screwed on Volume 2 because of the quick sellout. That one had a hard number of 1500 as opposed to the more open-ended pressings of #3 and #4 as I recall.
