I actually got a press release for this, from Fox. Was it a busted pilot for a series?
LOS ANGELES, CA – Directed by Ernie Barbarash, THE SAINT is an all-new reboot of the pop culture phenomenon which spanned decades. Staring Adam Rayner (Tyrant TV series) as THE SAINT, along with Eliza Dushku (Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Dollhouse TV series), and featuring a cameo from the late Sir Roger Moore who starred in the original 1960s TV series, THE SAINT is a mystery spy thriller for a new generation. Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment celebrates the digital release of THE SAINT on Digital HD/VOD on July 11, 2017.

With a new cast and new plot, THE SAINT, a modern-day Robin Hood, faces 21st Century challenges. Simon Templar is THE SAINT, and the stakes are higher than ever. His latest adventure involves $2.5 billion in African aid funds, a persistent FBI agent, and an innocent girl held hostage.

With a history of intrigue, from the original novels in the 1920s, to the movies and a TV series in the 60s, THE SAINT is sure to delight new, and tried and true fans. A must-own for any crime drama connoisseur!

Looks interesting -- too bad it is "Americanized", and set in (ho-hum) LA. One of the things which gave the Moore series style and distinction was the UK production base (while the later Ogilvy series series made colorful use of European settings).

Ah yes, the backlot at Elstree. One week, we're in Paris, the next it's Rome...lol Mind you, 8 out of ten for effort though. Still fun to watch. If anyone's interested the original series is available on Hulu.

In December 2012, it was announced that Roger Moore would produce a new series, which would star Adam Rayner as Simon Templar and Eliza Dushku as his girlfriend Patricia Holm. In a promo that was later released, it was also shown that Moore would star in the new series, as would his successor in Return of the Saint, Ian Ogilvy. Production of a pilot episode was completed by early 2013. As of summer 2014 it was awaiting a broadcast time in the U.S.
