Criterion titles in your collection?
Hi folks,
Thought this might be a fun way to jump back into the forum after a long time spent lurking.
What Criterion titles are in your collection? This might be a cool way to discuss the releases (particularly the extras) and certainly point each other in the right direction for getting some new swag.
Some CC titles in my collection:
THE PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC
M
KICKING AND SCREAMING
DAYS OF HEAVEN
HOUSE OF GAMES
LA HAINE
I know I'm missing tons of stuff, but it's a start. And I'm still on the lookout for Criterion's treatment of ROAD HOUSE.

Not a whole lot, and none bought for a few years:
A Night To Remember
The Lady Vanishes
The 39 Steps
Armageddon
The Rock
Charade
Spartacus
Rebecca
Spellbound
Notorious
The Killers
And I still have these Criterion LDs (all CAV) in my closet:
North By Northwest
Close Encounters Of The Third Kind
Show Boat
A Night To Remember
The Lady Vanishes
The 39 Steps
Armageddon
The Rock
Charade
Spartacus
Rebecca
Spellbound
Notorious
The Killers

Yes- it's an amazing film. Very moving- one sequence in particular is extremely memorable, hypnotic, and moving. Double disc set has two doumentaries. Film has a commentary by Stephen Prince as well, so if you can buy this, do so. Well worth having in your collection.Mike Skerritt wrote:Does this include IKIRU?mkaroly wrote:All the Akira Kurosawa ones (double or triple disc sets, single platters- all of them that were offered...15 of them)
Kurosawa is woefully, criminally underseen by me, and IKIRU is one I'd consider going to straight away.

I almost got the Criterion KWAIDAN...untill I found out it was missing around 22 minutes! I recommend the UK release of this film, which has the complete cut, as well as being a more recent transfer (and best of all is non-region and NTSC!).mkaroly wrote: KWAIDAN
As far as my Criterion discs, I only have three -- CHARADE, TIME BANDITS and the Kurosawas 4-movie collection. Criterion releases are just too expensive!

Indeed they are, which is probably why I don't have more. For what it's worth, criteriondvd.com stocks titles at probably the best prices you'll find for new discs.Paul MacLean wrote:As far as my Criterion discs, I only have three -- CHARADE, TIME BANDITS and the Kurosawas 4-movie collection.
