"You've got to remember that these are just simple farmers. These are people of the land. The common clay of the new West. You know... morons."-Gene Wilder to Cleavon Little in BLAZING SADDLES
9/10
Wellman's "Wild Boys of the Road" (1933). Bleak, Pre-Code look at young people taking to the rails during the depression is still a startling, compact and involving tale; the ending, unfortunately, feels "tacked on." I like Frankie Darro's performance in this very much.
Wellman's film would be very interesting to remake today. . .

Hunt for Red October 4/5
No performances less than very good, good F/X, maintains interest throughout even though it could have been trimmed a little more.

9/10-best sequel ever made.
I have to disagree with the prevailing popularity for this--GOD those falling snowflakes are annoying. But I bet I get used to them...wait, what were we talking about...?
