I have a good friend from out of town in for the weekend and we were going to the movies last night -- until we all realized nothing was playing!
Looks like everyone agrees. THE HANGOVER is the first movie in quite a while to stay #1 for two weekends in a row -- and has officially become the big surprise hit of 2009 so far.
Can't say I was excited about the PELHAM 1-2-3 remake...I'd rather watch the original, especially if it ever gets remastered.
Eddie Murphy lays another egg with IMAGINE THAT.

What happened to the cheerfully vulgar comedian who wowed us in hard R-rated comedies like 48 Hrs. and Beverly Hills Cop?

Perhaps he needs the money to support Mel B. LOLMonterey Jack wrote:Eddie...I'm begging you...lay off the kiddie comedies.AndyDursin wrote:Eddie Murphy lays another egg with IMAGINE THAT.

lol, all that will do is enable him to make more crap that's NOT a kiddie film.Monterey Jack wrote:Eddie...I'm begging you...lay off the kiddie comedies.
Look at all the trash he's churned out in the last 20 years or so...most of these aren't kiddie movies and they're just as bad!!
“The Golden Child”
“Harlem Nights”
"Boomerang"
“Another 48 Hrs.”
“The Distinguished Gentleman”
“Metro”
"Beverly Hills Cop 2"
“Beverly Hills Cop 3″
“Showtime”
“I, Spy”
“Vampire in Brooklyn”
“The Adventures of Pluto Nash”
“Meet Dave”
"Holy Man"
"Nutty Professor 2: The Klumps"
"Life"
"Dr. Doolittle"
"Dr. Doolittle 2"
"Norbit"
"Daddy day care"
I mean, if it weren't for BOWFINGER (not bad) and the first NUTTY PROFESSOR, there's not much since the days of 48 HOURS and TRADING PLACES that's worth talking about. His career has been pretty abysmal really if you look at it as a whole.

It must be a testament to his comedic and acting talent because otherwise it is quite amazing how he's been able to hang in there with such a pop-like career.AndyDursin wrote:lol, all that will do is enable him to make more crap that's NOT a kiddie film.Monterey Jack wrote:Eddie...I'm begging you...lay off the kiddie comedies.

not just "pop" though -- most of those movies were universally panned and didn't do well at the box-office either. I didn't even recall SHOWTIME until seeing that he and DeNiro were in it together -- at which point, I had to gather myself for a second, because I didn't remember the two of them even making a film together! lol.It must be a testament to his comedic and acting talent because otherwise it is quite amazing how he's been able to hang in there with such a pop-like career.

VAMPIRE was absolutely awful, no doubt there Michael. Wes Craven swung and missed BAD with that one. An all-time bomb!mkaroly wrote:Lol...as bad as it is, I kind of like Harlem Nights. Vampire in Brooklyn was an abomination...man that film was UNfunny to the hilt! That list depresses me Andy...lol...UGH!
