Matinee at the Bijou - PBS Series Returning

...anyone else remember this show?

I distinctly recall it growing up in the '80s on Channel 2 during Saturday afternoons. It would be fun for a few minutes with the cartoons and newsreels, but then I'd lose interest in it, lol.

Apparently they are trying to get funding to bring it back -- this time in HD -- with Debbie Reynolds hosting.

That show was embarrassing, with it's phony reenactments of people going to the pictures in the "good old days" and the equally phony movie trailers they'd cobble together!

Give me TCM and Robert Osborne any day!
