Oh no...
A talent that stole away the likes of ROBIN HOOD and DIE HARD from its stars, proved as adept at comedy in GALAXY QUEST and of course accompanied HARRY POTTER throughout that entire series.
He will be sorely missed....

Man this friggin' kills me.
Re: RIP Alan Rickman
Funnily enough, I most associate Alan Rickman with a film I've never seen (but always wanted to).
Truly, Madly, Deeply.

Re: RIP Alan Rickman
Watched Sweeney Todd tonight in memoriam, just for the surreal pleasure of Rickman crooning.
Re: RIP Alan Rickman
Rickman was an all-purpose great performer.
He gave Hans Gruber not only a suave veneer of civilization, but also a truly wicked intelligence. This was a character who rarely raised his voice, and when he did, it was scary. (Rickman truly understood the Olivier rule of never showing an audience your top...)
His Alexander Dane in Galaxy Quest was a wonderful study of put-upon royalty. The brilliant Shakespearean actor (who'd had three curtain calls once) reduced to wearing an alien head even at home, and always playing second banana to Tim Allen. Great stuff.
I'll miss his work, and I'm glad we have his performances to remember him by.

Re: RIP Alan Rickman
I loved him in DIE HARD and SWEENY TODD - he was very versatile, charismatic, and just plain fun to watch in whatever he was involved in. He was an incredible talent (I loved how he delivered his lines - his diction, tone, where he raised his voice slightly and where he spoke softly) and will be missed.
