Great actor...could always be counted on for a good performance even when stuck in schlock.

Somewhat ironic that he played Chuck Yeager and Yeager outlived him.

Those of us with experience in theater will remember him most as a playwright - for his many plays that continue to be performed throughout the country. Buried Child. Fool for Love. True West. Many others. He also acted in movies, and occasionally got to be in some big ones. But it's his plays that will survive past everything else. He had a unique voice.
