Glad the crapitude of the previous Annabelle didn't cause people to avoid this one, which unfortunately happened to Ouija: Origin Of Evil. :(

Also happy to note that Edgar Wright's awesome Baby Driver has crossed the $100 million mark in the U.S. :D Always nice to see something truly original and not a piece of stale franchise-building find an audience (I saw it twice, the only film I've seen this year twice at the cinema just for the sake of enjoying it again, as opposed to seeing various comic book movies a second time only because my brother can never find time in his schedule for an opening-day matinee with me).

Two good friends of mine thought it was overrated and liked it -- but didn't love it. After that I held off because I run hot and cold on Wright's work in general. I will obviously see BABY DRIVER on video, and I am glad something that wasn't a sequel did well, but my problem is the alternative to franchise builders this summer seemingly had problems of their own, like DUNKIRK.

No wonder why this is going to go down as a historically awful summer for movies -- fewest tickets sold in 25 years.
