LIGHTYEAR Disney+ Performance Reportedly Rivals Its Theatrical Run

#1 Post by AndyDursin »

Doomcock reveals Disney+ viewership on this bomb is just as robust as its theatrical viewership.

How low? Try (according to his source) less than 40,000 total views after nearly 5 full days on the service.

Have to agree. Disney won't get off their Woke Agenda until they start getting attacked where it counts...in their wallets. There was absolutely nothing fun about Lightyear, which made the "inclusivity" pandering even more transparent, so no wonder kids and parents passed it up in favor of Minions 2.

I was at goodwill the other day looking for junk for my art students to draw for a still life....... and there was a TON of Lightyear merchandise. Goodwill tags for 50 cents on top of marked down Walmart tags!

And this was supposed to be the movie that was young Andy's favorite and made him want the title character in toy form...!

This movie is going to go down as one of the biggest Disney/Pixar botches of all time. How they cocked up a Buzz Lightyear movie this badly beggars disbelief.

I just hope this scuppers plans to make prequels for the other Toy Story characters. "Oh, it's about the real cowboy who inspired the Woody's Roundup show in the 1950s...!" [movie has the joyless, funereal tone of Unforgiven).

I recall hearing how bad sales were after LAST JEDI, the true metric of a fanbase's enthusiasm or lack thereof is a decline in merch sales and this speaks volumes. Another great video from Doomcock...have you ever watched his Friday or Sunday night livestreams? Brings me back to the days of the three hours of sci-fi talk shows on local RI public access on Sunday nights we used to have.

A nice (and refreshingly concise) video about how Disney despises heroism...so long as it's a straight white male (and this is narrated by a woman).
