Just so obvious from watching the trailers this movie has to clue about Blatty's world view, Catholicism, or the entire point of THE EXORCIST itself. Mark Kermode obliterates the movie for that very reason below -- an "in name only" EXORCIST movie for people who don't understand it, and think you are only watching it for "the possessed girl" and "buckets of pea soup" so to speak.
Might as well just watch THE POPE'S EXORCIST instead -- at least it's more fun I'm sure!

Hmmm.....the filmmakers suffered from Ron Moore's Syndrome? (reimagining a property with no clue about its underpinnings and philosophy).AndyDursin wrote: ↑Fri Oct 06, 2023 11:16 am Just so obvious from watching the trailers this movie has to clue about Blatty's world view, Catholicism, or the entire point of THE EXORCIST itself.
