This show absolutely sucks. The first few shows are ok but the main "modern" story involving the grandkids of John Goodman's KONG character is just horrendous. Not for nothing they add in another dose of LGBTQ garbage. Why do they think KIDS who want to see Godzilla running around want to see sex, gay, straight or otherwise? Absolutely absurd who this show is aimed at and it only gets worse as it goes along.

I gave up after three episodes. Terrible writing and acting.

BTW I have no issue with there being a lesbian on this show -- but the fact the OTHER female lead, who is shown as being straight (or bi, or whatever) and in a relationship with the lesbian's brother, becomes interested in the gay sister is just absolutely ridiculous.

The 5th episode doesn't have any monster at all -- just the 3 of them bickering with each other. Meanwhile they lock up Kurt Russell and give him nothing to do!

It's absolutely dreadful despite high production values. The episodes and general writing are so uneven, the early eps set in the '50s aren't terrible, but all of the material involving these 3 characters is excruitiating to behold.

So far, that's a wise idea Michael. As it is I'm going to have to finish this with Theo and fast-forward through this love triangle BS.

The thing that gets me is just how seriously pretentious this show is. It started out decently but everything set in the "present" (or at least around the 2014 Godzilla movie) is a total bust. The only funny thing is the running gag that Kurt Rusell's character is supposed to be 90 -- clearly these movies were never mapped out to make any sense, which is why it makes no sense the series is mostly a soap opera involving 3 humorless, unappealing leads.

If Apple produces another season, those 3 characters need to be deep-sixed and the series completely re-set.

Hollywood ALWAYS casts actors who are too young -- or too old -- for roles. The recent Fall Of The House Of Usher Netflix series cast Bruce Greenwood as the patriarch of the Usher clan who, judging by its timeline, should be pushing ninety in the modern-day segments. Guy's 67 and looks like a well-preserved 55. Of course, he was replacing the far more age-appropriate Frank Langella (85), who got himself cancelled right before shooting was to commence.

And that's nothing compared to that run of David O. Russell movies Jennifer Lawrence was in a decade ago, where she was playing a string of characters who were obviously supposed to be a few decades older. She looked young enough to be playing Christian Bale's DAUGHTER in American Hustle.

The joke is that Russell isnt and doesn't even try to act 90. He's just Kurt Russell. The character is only supposed to technically be 90 because their continuity between Godzilla 2014 and Kong Skull Island doesn't work with his casting, but at least they don't care that it doesn't make sense. probably the only amusing thing the show does, not that they give him anything to do
