Just watched Paramount's latest STAR TREK Collector's Edition 2-DVD set, and it has a really nice, 20 minute tribute to Goldsmith.

No great revelations but there are some fond remembrances from Rick Berman (who talks about how he fought for Goldsmith's theme as the TNG fanfare), composer Jay Chattaway, and other Trek production personnel.

There are also some clips of Goldsmith scoring FIRST CONTACT, including footage of his son Joel at work, saying how his father (whom he only refers to as "Jerry Goldsmith") was facing a rushed production schedule and needed assistance from another composer. Goldsmith also was interviewed at this time and talks about working on the film, the genre and Trek in particular.

Very nicely packaged, as is the entire set. I believe the release is due out on 3/15 from what Amazon lists. Good stuff (and a pretty good film, the best TNG feature as well).
