It would have been nice to have Sommers and Silvestri come back, to finish off the franchise, but it was not to be. I'm still not convinced by Cohen's words about the score. I would like to be wrong, but I just think it's going to be a train wreck of a movie.
Still, I don't know what's worse. This or Scorpion King:Rise of the Arkadian.

London. Greatest City in the world.
Safe bet goes to the latter although I agree with you and I'm not glowing with confidence over Mummy 3, either from movie to score, etc.John Johnson wrote:It would have been nice to have Sommers and Silvestri come back, to finish off the franchise, but it was not to be. I will try to sneak into the rec sessions! Would be fun, but still I think will be not before May... apparently release date has been moved from May to August now...
as far as I understood Cohen they want to restart the franchise now, not finish it... i.e. continue with Fraser's son... well...
Im still pretty convinced that the whole thing is more or less a rewritten version of Cohen's SINDBAD, which he was working on but got shut down after the STEALTH failure.

I've never been a huge fan of his, but he's done some quality work -- Ghostbusters II was an excellent score.Eric W. wrote:I've never been big on Edelman so I can't get real excited here, but given the overall state of things today, when I see any composer linked to the LSO I have to figure it's going to be worth something.
And Edelman can write memorable themes, has a real ear for harmony, not to mention a fine dramatic instinct -- qualities largely missing from most other composers writing film music today.
