Peter Benchley's THE ISLAND on DVD, At Last!

Bad movie fans rejoice!
I don't know how I missed the memo, but our German friends have had this 1980 flop on DVD all to themselves for the last few months -- and in nifty 16:9 widescreen as well (it was a Panavision movie and the VHS and laserdiscs released in the US were cropped).
Still waiting on my copy to wash ashore, but I'm looking forward to seeing this waterlogged Zanuck/Brown JAWS follow-up in scope at last.
BTW, it's interesting, but there are a number of Universal movies available overseas not on DVD here -- including GRAY LADY DOWN (decent Heston thriller from the late '70s), THE WARLORD (another good one, in remastered widescreen), ALI BABA AND THE FORTY THIEVES (early 40s Technicolor nonsense), among others.
