Usually September brings some more adult oriented fare...but this year has been pathetic.

Numbers for the weekend. Good news for Sony's animated CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS and terrible news for everything else. Too bad about SURROGATES but when i saw the running time was chopped to under 90 minutes you knew it was DOA.

I haven't been to a movie theater in months. There is absolutely nothing Hollywood is putting out that I want to see. I couldn't even tell you the plot of any of the movies listed below.

As an obvious corrollary: When Hollywood is just putting out some much junk en masse...is it any wonder film music has died right along with it?

Who is going to bother coming up with even decent music and/or how do you even do it for tripe like that lineup is?

Yes, but I think even he'd have problems scoring the bulk of the dreck that Hollywood puts out today.

whats wrong with a 90min film? In the 80ies a film with running 2 hours was already regarded extended lenght... I enjoy a lean 90min film a lot more, very difficult to get bored during that duration than in a bloated 3 hours film like POTC 3 or TRANSFORMERS 2 (latter had not even enough plot and characters for 90min!)...
