Andy, speak for yourself on the Tab reference in BTTF, I subsist on that beverage still to this day! (only diet soda in cans still made from good old saccharine)

lol, that's true -- I forgot it staged a comeback...didn't it go away and then come back again? At least around here it vanished for years (and Rhode Island has often been a test market for odd soft-drink flavors).

Actually it never has gone away. It's just that Coke doesn't bother to spend any money advertising it because they know there are core drinkers like me out there who will always keep buying it.

The funny thing is that Tab is actually the SAME thing as Diet Coke in the fountain outlets because in fountain outlets, Diet Coke, along with Diet Pepsi etc. is still a blend of saccharine and not 100% Nutra Sweet (We Tab drinkers rue the day that was ever created!) like in the cans. So when you have Diet Coke in a restaurant you're actually drinking Tab.
